I wonder if the Blackhawks Director of Scouting, Ron Anderson has any influence on this decision? He was the coach at Merrimack College when Vesey's dad went there.
word out of Chicago is he will be part of the meeting

That article also makes it clear that, in Chicago, it's not the GMs call on where/if a guy plays. The coach makes those decisions. I am sure Vesey is a confident guy, but does he really want to have to beat out a guy like Tyler Motte or Nick Schmaltz for a roster spot? Especially since neither have max performance bonuses attached. If it's a razor-thin difference between them, and Quenneville sees a defense lapse by Vesey, he could end up in the AHL. I suspect Vesey believes he's better than either of those guys, but doesn't an advisor have to explain that others teams would have a reason to keep him. Chicago would have a reason to send him the the AHL.

Leafs, Isles, Penguins and Devils today, according to Divver. Leaves the Bruins and Blackhawks for tomorrow, unless there is anyone else out there that hasn't been named.

Kurt knows what's up. I don't know Vesey as a person but that pitch would have me sold. Hopefully Sweeney has at least some of that in his presentation.

This image looks like a ten year old going out as a hockey player on Halloween although I think I see some fuzz on his lip.

I'm not a photoshop novice, nevermind expert, but he's a left hand shot. unlike Seguin.

Haggs on T&R just now

-would not be surprised if Vesey didn't want to come to Boston because of the pressure at playing at home
- also would not be surprised if he wants to play in Boston because it's the hometown team.
-could not confirm if any players were in the Boston meeting but that would not surprise him.

Related, I would not be surprised if I could become a passable Bruins beat writer while still maintaining my current full time job just by having Twitter open. Local stations I'm available for paid gigs.

Haggs is useless. One thing that came out of the T&R interview that struck me this morning is is the rumor is true that Hayes was warning him about how hard the fans and city on local kids playing for the Bruins. Hayes deserved every ounce of criticism he got last year whether it he was from Sommerville or Saskatchewan due to his awful play.

I heard that interview too. He said he heard that some Bruins players were at the pitch but didn't confirm the rumor. You'd think he'd want to get off his ass and confirm some key details of the meeting. He really is useless.

I was driving in the car last night and someone (Fluto?) suggested that the Bruins may hire Vesey's father for Keith Gretzky's old position as a way to entice Vesey to sign with the Bruins.

Holy crap that has to be totally made up right? The guy is a PT area scout. The bruins are going to hand the keys to their player development system to sign one guy? No way that happens.

Between here and everywhere.
Based on what everyone has been saying, today is the day. Anyone want to conjure a guess at where he goes?

I'm saying he goes to the Islanders. Young core. They can promise him top 6 minutes. Close to home without the burden of being the hometown kid. Brooklyn is a great area to live in (if you have money). I don't think he comes to the Bruins because Julien won't promise him ice time unconditionally, and it seems like that is something that is important to him.

We will see.

I'm still on the Bruins. Everything we've heard him said points straight to the Bruins. It's really difficult for me to understand growing up a huge bruins fan and having a chance to play on that team and then passing on them because its hard playing at home. He may choose another team, but I think the Bruins are the prohibitive favorite.

I hope it is the Bruins and they made a good pitch yesterday but I could easily see him going to Chicago, NYI, Buffalo or Toronto for various reasons.

It sounds to me like he wants to play here, and people around him are trying to talk him out of it. At every point in his career he's had a chance to leave and he always seems to stay home. He stayed in a Tier III junior league instead of going to the USHL. He went to Harvard when he could've went somewhere else. Even this week instead of getting on a plane and touring each city & the teams facilities he has them coming to him. I think he wants to stay home.

I agree with this. I think it's:

1. Bruins
.
.
.
2. Chicago
3. NYR
.
.
.
4. NYI
5. Buffalo

...and in his player tribune he talked about pulling on a Bruins jersey and how important it was for him to stay with his boys in college. Then in his Haggs interview he talked about how important having his family close to him is. Someone could have swooped in and wowed him and made him change his mind, but all of the contradictory info that we are seeing on twitter just seems like clickbait to me. He's coming here unless someone blew him away with a pitch.

When was the last time someone chose to go to BUF when money wasn't a factor?
Don't see them as a contender at all.

I'm hoping B's but expecting CHI.

If Vesey signs elsewhere, right or wrong Jimmy Hayes will take a lot of shit for it. I'm not sure if he's actually telling Vesey not to come or if his camp is but it doesn't really matter.
It's usually never the athlete, they're used to getting told they suck. It's happened to them in every road game they've ever played. If you think I'm kidding go to Hockey Town at 8am on a Saturday during youth hockey season and hear some of the shit that comes out of people's mouths towards someone else's 9 year old skater. I play men's league on the upstairs rink and I hear it all. It's the uncles telling the parents that they were killing their kid on talk radio. It's the siblings reading the diarrhea on Twitter. There the ones telling hacks like Jimmy Murphy and Joe Haggerty that nonsense.

He told Detroit that he wouldn't be signing with them because he wants to play closer to home, but you think Chicago is an option?
