Good job building a good team without losing too many blue chips, DDski.

Have to say, it's not Abad deadline at all!

Just wait until the 2019 season when the Yankees roll out a lineup with nine Hall of Famers and a rotation of five HoFers. They won't even need a bullpen!

I heard that Harper and Machado are actually considering paying New York for the privilege of playing there.
Nothing in the world is more obnoxious than this shit. "Oh here's what the projected Yankees lineup is in 20-fucking-19. Note MVPs here, here, and here." Any serious baseball writer putting that shit out there is a joke.

Nova traded too? What top prospect did they give up for that scrub?

As I said above, I really don't think this is their plan. What Jeff Passan just tweeted is much more towards their (very general) plan IMO:

2019 Yankees? Sanchez 2 Bird 3 Mateo 4 Machado 5 Torres 6 Ellsbury 7 Frazier 8 Harper 9 Judge DH

SP: Fernandez, Tanaka, Sheff, Kap, Tate
wow, why even play the games, amirite?!?!?! we've got HoF lock, lock, lock, lock, lock, lock.... fuck it, let's just call the 2019 SuperYankees the Erie Canal team.

MFY fans need to learn what a prospect is again.

I'm of the opinion we've got enough talent on the roster provided some guys get healthy and some play to their career numbers. Glad he didn't send off the blue chips for things that would have only incrementally improved this team. I really want to see Moncade and Ben in Red Sox uni's.

The wrong side of the bridge....
I am feeling exactly the way George, Mary and Uncle Billy did in the scene in It's a Wonderful Life when they make it to the end of the business day without having to close their doors.

From now on I will always think of Benintendi and Moncada as Papa Dollar and Mama Dollar.

I think the Blue Jays are winning the division, still think they're most well rounded, but Sox have a chance to get one of the two wild card spots still

The Indians and Rangers obviously helped themselves the most today, but all the Sox moves probably at least even it out.

Wonder what the Sox equivalent to the TX MIL trade would have been? Lucroy/Jeffers would have been a nice get.

Speier also says Sox done, "per multiple sources." I'm pleased.
Same here. The single thing I think they most needed to fix was the Tommy Layne slot in the bullpen. Doesn't mean everything else is great. I just thought that was the worst spot. I've never understood Layne's strategy for getting guys out. Not that deceptive. Doesn't throw fast. Doesn't have great control. Doesn't seem to have great movement.

where I was last at
Sox got the BP arm they needed, and kept the blue-chips.
Texas and Cleveland got better

But the Sox have the talent to compete for the division and pennant.

Two guys that don't exist in the Sox system. Probably the closest would be Benintendi & Espinoza (if he was still around).
