I looked, and there's no Brady discussion thread. There's a TB offseason thread, a Tom vs Time thread, but nothing for talking about the man's season, which is his 19th in the league. So here we are.

So he's had an up-and-down season by his standards so far, and yesterday he threw (avert your eyes) TWO interceptions! Clearly, career over.

Wait, how often has that happened? Let's check.

-- 27 game stretch, from start of 2013 season --
    2014 Week 11: 2 INT @ IND (W, 42-20)
    -- 8 game stretch --
    2014 Super Bowl: 2 INT vs SEA (W, 28-24)
    -- 11 game stretch --
    2015 Week 13: 2 INT vs PHI (L, 28-35, that ridiculous comeback)
    -- 5 game stretch --
2015 AFCCG: 2 INT @ DEN (L, 18-20, had a chance to tie on final play)
-- 12 regular season games of 2016, he had 2 INT all regular-season holy crap --
    2016 AFC DIV: 2 INT vs HOU (W, 34-16)
    -- 14 game stretch --
    2017 Week 14: 2 INT @ MIA (L, 20-27)
    -- 9 game stretch --
2018 Week 4: That thing yesterday, also vs Miami (W, 38-7)

So that's the 7th time in 5.25 seasons + 13 postseason games, or a little more than once per 16-game season. In his ages-35-to-41 seasons. 7 times in which he made a bad decision twice in a game, and paid some consequence for it (and even some of those probably include tipped balls and assorted wackiness). Let us all hope we take care of our own children as well as Tom Brady takes care of the football.

    Brady's last five playoff games:

    32-42, 384 yds, 3 td, 0 int
    43-62, 466 yds, 2 td, 1 int
    35-53, 337 yds, 3 td, 0 int
    26-38, 290 yds, 2 td, 0 int
    28-48, 505 yds, 3 td, 0 int
    TOT: 164-243 (67.5%), 1,982 yds (8.2 ypa), 13 td, 1 int, 108.4 rating

The man is an assassin. Still.

And that's without Gronk for over half the games. He's still rounding into elite form this year but by year end, nobody will want to play this team no matter what seed they are.

If they're the #1 seed, obviously they'll be the favorite. But even if they aren't, they'll absolutely be that "team nobody wants to play". Totally agree.

Both of his ints on Thursday were his receivers' fault, and one was a fucking fumble. TB12 is still a beast.

His first INT of the year was a ball that was deflected at the LOS and went right to a Houston defender. So that’s three INTs he’s been “credited” with that really have been just terrible luck against Brady.

The modern NFL reminds me of those old Saturday morning cartoons. We all know how the story will end, we just don't know what road each player will travel.

It’s kind of funny watching and saying “who?” A bunch of times throughout the video. Which is what makes this even more amazing. A bunch of people who are not household names.

So many blasts from the past! Nice David Thomas footage... Must have been hard to track that one down.

Hard to believe Scott Chandler ever got a TD (and yet he got 4). Man he was a disappointment.

    Malcolm Mitchell...what could've been

There was at least one season in there where no one new caught a TD pass.

That was 2008, when he was out the entire season. Every other season he had at least one new receiver.

Loved Floyd's and Mitchell's from 2016. And Thomas' in 2006. And of course Randy Moss.

It's amazing how often the first TDs are indicative of the players themselves. We've seen Gronk do that a hundred times since. Vintage Stallworth and Moss on their firsts. Dion Lewis's is his every highlight.

Ya he didn't do crap in 2000 either. if the GOAT can't throw a TD as the 4th string QB I'm not sure he deserves the moniker.

Wow... Aaron Hernandez has caught the 6th most TD passes from Brady. Tied for 7th is Daniel Graham and Benjamin Watson.

In other words, in the middle of the field, he looks to the slot receivers but in the Red Zone, it’s all about the TEs. (Add Vrabel to that pile as well!)

Develin doesn't have one (yet) but had one in the last playoff game the Colts ever played.

Fun guessing game: who will be connection #72?
    Possibilities on current roster:
    Develin
    Slater
    Michel
    Hollister
Some random D player playing TE?
An OLineman eligible (either as 3rd TE or as FB)?

Hollister has to be the favorite. As @Saints Rest noted above, a lot of Brady's favorite targets have been TE. Dudes like Matt Mulligan and Matt Lengel caught TD passes from Brady. Tim Wright caught six in a season once. Get a jumbo look with attention on Gronk and White and a favorable LB matchup for Hollister, boom, six points.

What was shocking to me was that Gronk has more TDs than TB’s three favorite slot guys combined (Edelman, Welker, Brown, in case anyone wasn’t sure).

Ho hum, 340 yards passing, 1td, 1td rushing, 109.2 rating, 43 points, game winning drive to knock off the last undefeated AFC team, back into first in the AFC East.

    Another day at the office.

The fumble was a horrific play by Brady that very nearly cost them huge. But on the whole, another fantastic performance by the GOAT.

I think he was shocked how much space he had when he made the first move to the right side of the field, then he moved again and he had nearly the same space. Normally his internal clock is real good, but he had to know the O-line can only keep it good for so long. Overall great game, caught Gordon's comments post game and he mentioned how calm TB was in the huddle on the final drive. That has to feel good for him coming from Cleveland, like at this place, game winning drives are going to happen.

For sure. And obviously Brady is historically great at protecting the ball. Just on that play it would have been far better to just eat it and take the sack than expose it like that. Oh well...hopefully lesson learned and they won anyway.

If he's playing WR, that means the Pats are in trouble. Maybe he'll line up as a RB for a play or two and get one?

He's the safety in kneeldown formations, so it was probably the last snap of the first half. He's played like seven snaps this year and all of them are in this situation as far as I know.

It's all building up to the eventual fake kneel, where Slater goes sprinting out of the backfield and catches an FU touchdown.

"Yea we planned for that. We knew that the Colts/Jets/Broncos/Steelers/Giants have good special teams, but we felt that we might be able to catch them with a Slater TD there. It puts us in good position playoff wise in regards to the 7th,8th,9th,10th and 11th Playoff tie breakers. Tom executed the fake kneel well and Slater ran a good route".

    Tom Brady's first ever interview.

I find the part where he details the difficulties he has analyzing defenses particularly entertaining, considering he may be the best to ever do it now.
