All indications are that Rubby De La Rosa will pitch Wednesday.
RDLR is a big talent but his opposite number is Chris Sale.  That spells sure trouble. All of the other games could give us a chance.

Ruby confirmed for Wednesday start, looks like Workman is going down to make room.
He won't have to miss a start because of the All Star break.

I like the decision. Workman has hit a rough patch and probably needs to either fix some things and let the organization figure out where he best helps this team now, and in the future. Hopefully, Peavy can be moved and Webster or one of the other kids can get a shot.

Why the fuck won't they play Bogaerts at SS? If Drew is a part time player as he now appears to be and if they're "turning the page", it's time to move Xander back to SS and abandon the Drew experiment altogether.  I know Holt has SS experience, but I'd honestly rather see him at 3B and Bogaerts at SS where he belongs.

They need to continue to play Drew at SS to hope he snaps out of it so they can trade him.  Even if he doesn't get traded before July 31st, you have until August 31st to deal him because he'll pass through waivers with that contract.  Smart move is to play him until he starts hitting and then deal him.  So that means he continues to play SS and you don't want to bounce X back and forth.

If Drew continues to suck, there will come a time when they will need to decide to DFA him or not.

Weren't we all in agreement that X played pretty solid SS the last few weeks before moving to 3b?  The front office had to notice that too.  Right?  They know how much more valuable X would be playing SS.  At least I hope they do.

I was going to criticize Farrell for leaving Gomes in to face the righthander, but Remy pointed out that there was a lefty warming up in the pen to face Carp or Nava, and Gomes got a hit, so I guess chalk one up to Farrell's hunch that Gomes vs. a righty was at least as good as Nava or Carp against a lefty.

I wonder if we'll see Gomes getting more playing time overall, for the same reason that they need to continue to play Drew. If either of them gets hot, it will increase the likelihood of getting a meaningful return.

Another reason to keep Gomes in the game was , hopefully, to keep an ineffective reliever in the game. I can't remember if Ventura had a RH up as well but you don't want to give him an excuse to change pitchers .
