I like NBC’s broadcast, but kinda ridiculous we got a Tirico/Rosaforte report over watching Spieth’s tee shot on the second hole coming off an eagle.

Basically a pitch and putt out there today. Hand full of drivable par 4, a couple toothless par 5.

If you don't shoot 67 or below you are getting lapped

Tiger Woods one shot off the lead, 11am on a Saturday. I don't want to hyperbolize, but this could quite possibly be the greatest golf tournament ever played.

He probably needs to get to -7 or -8. 14 is a birdie hole with chance at eagle. 16-18 are still nasty despite the easy conditions.

I would be very surprised if the lead is in single digits at the end of the day

Both Rory and Fleetwood now screw up the second shot at #2, Rory with a par that feels like a bogey, and looking like same for Fleetwood

Ugh Rory butchering #2 after a perfect drive. Certainly isn't looking like his day. Well at least after back to back awful shots he saves the par

It looks like good Spieth showed up today. His game has off lately but he seems to show up for big tournaments.

Tiger is going to be a few off the lead by the time the leaders finish. He's playing very well but a lot of players will go low today. He needs the wind to kick up slightly after he gets in to slow the last groups down and they're not saying something like that will happen.

We’ll see what Spieth does when he gets to 15-18. That is where all his bogeys/doubles have come, I think he is +5 on that stretch so far this week.

I don’t care that he is out ahead of everyone and he will likely fall a bit back..

Tiger Woods has the share of the lead at a major. Awesome.

Gets the top of the board while tied with six other guys treatment too... and it's awesome.

He looks really good with that putter. Pace is great. Roll is great. Burning a lot of edges when mid-long range putts don't drop. Looks comfortable too.
Tiger's game right now is perfect. If he can keep it up, he'll be involved deep into tomorrow.

Might be Tigers week with that miracle on 18, what a putrid shot he hit

3-iron just not enough to take the burn on the right out of play maybe? He was basically gifted that bounce. Whatever bad luck he had on the roll on 16 was flipped there.
It was surely a gift. I just don't like the idea of him hitting a club he hasn't hit all day on the 18th. Play.Your.Game.

Tiger hitting a new club on 18. Stupid.
I heard them say that and I think they’re wrong. I’m almost dead certain he’s used it before, only because I remember watching and seeing him swinging an iron with a graphite shaft and thinking it was odd. My buddy I was with agreed it was weird to see. Only reason I remember it.

He'll end up with a Par and it could have been a double. So he'll take it, I am certain!

Huge bullet dodged on 18 for Tiger. He was staring at double while that tee shot was in the air. Take that driving iron and toss it in a dumpster.

Fantastic ball-striking day with his long/mid irons. Putter looks good too.

Leader in the club house, now let's have an unexpected microburst show up with some crazy wind for the rest of the day.
