I'm bumping this thread for two reasons. First, there's no general cricket thread. Second, these stories are the aftermath of the Ashes inside the ECB, and leads me to believe there's a lot of cannibalization behind the scenes.
This started about a week ago, when Andy Flower resigned as coach. This after he had made more than a few statements to the effect of "I'm not abandoning ship."
Then yesterday, things got crazy. Kevin Pietersen was quietly cast out of the England team at all levels, and the feeling is it might have its roots in a row between Pietersen and Flower in the aftermath of the Melbourne test. And just for funsies, Piers Morgan threw Matt Prior under the bus as well, saying that Prior was as much a leader of the attempted mutiny as Pietersen (all contained in the previous link), to which Prior responded with a several-tweet diatribe, pointing out how little a clue Morgan has.
Needless to say, there's a bit of drama around the carcass that was England cricket.
