Loved Terry Glenn growing up as I was 14 at the time he was drafted and loved them having a legit WR.

Amazing that looking back, Glenn was "The Groceries" and helped spawn Parcels leaving and everything that happened since.

Absolutely. The other WR was damn good also — Joey Galloway maybe.

Another 1st round pick.
Galloway played at OSU until 1994. Glenn only had 7 receptions that season. That being said, notable names form the 1995 team:

Terry Glenn
Eddie George
Rickey Dudley (was a tremendous weapon at TE for OSU, but could never overcome the dropsies in the NFL).
Orlando Pace
Mike Vrabel
Shawn Springs
Antoine Winfield

How they finished that season with two loses is astonishing.

Man, this sucks.

I'm finding it really hard to find Terry Glenn Patriots highlights on youtube, but this compilation video does a pretty good job of it:

The Bledsoe-Glenn connection really made up for those lean Marc Wilson/Hugh Millen-Coked out Irving Fryar days. Glenn gave Bledsoe a true #1 receiver that he needed and it was no surprise Bledsoe had his best seasons with Glenn catching the ball. That highlight video reminded me of how had Bledsoe could throw. Holy cow did he have a rocket.

The first loss was Michigan, and that really is a throw-out-the-record kind of game. Northwestern ran the table in conference that year and got the Rose Bowl bid without ever having to play OSU. I think after the loss to Michigan they just weren't up for Tennessee in whatever bowl that was. Had they faced (and beaten) Northwestern that year and headed out to Pasadena, I feel like they would've added another W.

Surprised he was only 43, seems like he's been out of the league for a lot longer than 10 years.

First jersey I had when I was a kid. RIP

Bledsoe to Glenn in the fog - that was the dynamic moment that to me has always felt like the start to this roller coaster ride. RIP.

Ugh. Sucks.

First time I saw him was my sophomore year in Madison when OSU came into Camp Randall. That OSU team always feels like it should've accomplished more. Loved, loved, LOVED the pick when the Patriots grabbed him. I remember watching the Super Bowl alone with the phone unplugged the following year. Glenn's long catch in the first half was one of the moments (Byars catch-and-run being the other) where I was like "we've got a chance here."

Such a shame. After the unfathomable awfulness that was the early 90s Pats the Parcells era was such a revelation. I vividly remember thinking after the ‘96 Super Bowl loss that it was OK, that the Pats were set up to be great for years to come with an offense led by Bledsoe, Martin and Glenn. When he was healthy and motivated Glenn was such a talent. Was really nice when he closed his career with those good years in Dallas.

RIP, Terry.

Spent a big chunk of my adolescence pretending to be #88 in a go route for a bomb from Bledsoe. Him and Curtis Martin got me interested in the Pats. My first jersey was Glenn, too. Very sad.

My favorite Glenn play was the 53 yard bomb in the fog from Bledsoe against Rod Woodson on the first Pats' play from scrimmage in the 1996/97 divisional playoff game 1/5/97 vs Pittsburgh that went on to be a 28-3 ass kicking. I was too young to appreciate 1986. That 1996 SB-bound team is what really hooked me.
