I want to see all the previews and forecasts and prognostications and specials, etc, etc, etc.

I'm not looking for "NFL Total Access" every night, but other things.

Is it worth watching Showtime's "Inside the NFL"? Is there a "Mike'd Up" special I should see? Is there a "5 Rings to Rule Them All" presentation out there?

Use this thread to post any worthwhile programming coming up in the next 12 days we can use to psych us up for the Big Game 52!

Tonight on NFL Network: Game of the Week, for both the AFCCG and NFCCG. With mic'd up sidelines, etc.

Inside the NFL is almost always worth it for the highlights, etc.

Turning Point is on tomorrow. A half hour each on the AFCCG and NFCCG.

Sound FX on tomorrow as well, but usually that is fairly similar to Inside the NFL.

Oh yeah, Inside the NFL is must watch for the mic’d up aspect, and they always have great video footage you haven’t seen before (from NFL Films, the Ed and Steve Sabol founded company). Thing is, what do you think about their “cast” of James Brown, Phil Simms, Booner Esiason, Ray Lewis and Brandon Marshall? You can always mute them. The host, James Brown, I don’t know, since he lost the weight, is acting weird. Like Tims said, SoundFX, which may have more than what they provided to NFL Network.

NFL Turning Point, on NFL Network the next couple of days , can also be good.

Edit, guess I just put in another vote for everything Tims recommended.

I usually fast forward through the talking head parts. They're all morons. Boomer is generally pro-Pats but those segments are rarely worth it.

Edit: it should be noted that there will be a lot of overlap between Game of the Week, Inside the NFL, Sound FX, and Turning Point, but there is usually something new in each that makes each worth watching.

Nothing like reminiscing with the America's Game series. I could listen to Bruschi talk shit all day.
The first four minutes of that America's Game clip could almost just be a preview of what's to come in two weeks: Belichick preaching "Do your job, be physical, and you'll be champions again tonight"... reading off the Eagles' parade plans through the streets of Philadelphia... Belichick having a last-minute game of catch with his son in the parking lot...

Okay, maybe that last one would be adjusted to "going over last minute game preparations with his son in the film room", but other than that it's pretty close.

where I was last at
SB49 is on now on NFLN.
Watching the last 30 seconds of the 1st half still pisses me off. Seattle was happy to run out the clock, but some sloppy D opened the door to 7 points.

uggh.

And sharply accentuates the difference of the Jags decision, to sit on the ball with 2 TOs and almost a minute on the clock.

Chris Matthews had under 200 receiving yards for his entire NFL regular season career but went over 100 in the Super Bowl. He’d be on the list with David Tyree if not for Malcom Butler.

Such a shame too bc his speed and athleticism is something this team could use. A real waste of talent, thanks to ego and immaturity. I loved watching him play. But yeah, he had a baaaaaad super bowl.

And he was even worse in the AFCCG the following year. Owen freaking Daniels.

That got me a bit too hyped on a day off. Given the injury assortments, it's good that the SB is in 10 days, but on the other, no place to use this energy.

Maybe watch 39 again? 2015 to get my revenge juices flowing?

"You've always got two sides to arguments usually when people talk about greatness. Well, how good are you, what are your stats? What'd he look like on the field? Then there's always the people that want to validate it by wins and championships - well he's got both. And I don't think how you can argue or who you can compare him to to say he's not the best of all time."

As someone who saw my first Pats game in 1964 against the Houston Oilers at Fenway, I always like to go back to the roots. You never can know enough about the organizational history of your team; it puts both perspective and appreciation of who that team is today. I strongly urge you to watch this utterly compelling series, which was produced by the NFL Network in 2010. Bill Belichick, who is one of the interviewees, called it "the best documentary that NFL films has ever produced."

Jack, I’ll watch that AFL film again later. Thanks for posting it. The first Pats game I attended was also at Fenway, 1966, against the Broncos. The thing I remember most about that game: our seats were facing the Green Monster, across the field from it. One punt, very high and near the sideline near the Monster, looked in mid-flight like it might actually graze off the wall. Of course, it didn’t. We had some very varied venues for the Pats and other AFL teams back then. Oh, Pats lost.

Thanks for posting that. I watched it during it's original run but it's great to watch again.

Those were the days, Al! I remember when Justin Canele would kick the extra points into the Red Sox bullpen!

Watching this makes me want to run through a damn brick wall. A few observations: McCourty is awesome. And I know he isn't popular here but Jalen Ramsey, in addition to being a very good player, strikes me as a great competitor. Again, I know that isn't a common sentiment here due to his proclivity for talking shit. Of course, that happens pretty much in every sport these days.

Oldie but goodie:

This remains one of the best videos on Youtube... I watch it at least once a year, and it always makes me smile. I love Belichick pointing to Russ Francis's banner in Gillette and saying "a couple of you guys are going to have your own banners hanging there someday" to Bruschi, Brady, Troy, etc. Also Belichick remembering the intricate details of a single play 25 years earlier concerning a Russ Francis block on Dexter Manley.

I watched this in its entirety last night. Some thoughts:

- McNabb sucked throughout this entire game. I had forgotten about the two overturned TOs (fumble and pick) in the 1st quarter.
- I hadn’t realized how seemingly outplayed the Patriots still were in the 1st half. The offense was stagnant.
- Deion Branch — man, he had such a connection with Brady, I really wish he hadn’t made the decision to bolt after this season.
- The Front 7 — holy shit was it fun to watch a Patriots front 7 absolutely dominate. Seymoure, Warren, McGinest, Vrabel, Bruschi, Johnson — they were beasts and just pressureing on every play.
- As mentioned, the 4th quarter situational stuff from Philly was embarassing.
- Listening to the announcers at that point still only subtely praising Brady — they were still in “he’s a game manager” mode at this point to some extent (as he was) was kind of strange to hear.

That was a lot of fun — that is kind of the “forgotten Superbowl” for me (I don’t remember where I watched it??!?!?!?!?), which is an amazing thing to say out loud.

We had a few people over for that game. My wife, who watches almost no football, was sitting in the chair in the family room that has a poor viewing angle to the TV. Late in the second quarter, Eagles still ahead 7-0, she said ‘the Patriots suck.’ I said ‘wait.’

As bad as the Eagles' time management was in the late drive where they get the touchdown, the Patriots' defense really bailed them out allowing a 30-yard TD over the top. In they end, they still got a TD in less than four minutes and preserved two time outs. The Eagles actually didn't need to onside kick. It probably was a 50/50 call but if they had kicked deep they probably get the ball around the 30-yard line if they hold the Patriots, with about fifty seconds needing three points. Tough, but not impossible. Pinning them deep on the punt was huge.
