SSD that go way beyond what the SATA interface can offer in the enterprise environment have been available for a while, at sizes and prices we home users couldn't reasonably contemplate. Intel changes that today. The Intel 750 series cards will be available as 400 Gb ($389) and 1.2 Tb versions ($1029). You need a Gen 3 PCIe motherboard and, if you want to boot from these drives, only the latest X99 or Z97 chipsets have a BIOS that will support that....but prices should become even more reasonable very fast.
