Lots of tweets last night that Chirches is one of the few that is possibly leaving, along with Sandro, Paulinho, and Soldado.

Well, Sandro is gone to QPR now, apparently for £10 million. Not that he wasn't a relative disappointment (save maybe in 'Arry's eyes), but anyone have any idea where this team is going?

I fear the same place they always go, 5th through 7th in the tables.

So, that's just the publicity still. The club however, dragged it out for like a half-hour and "signed" Bart...and made AVB sit there pretending to sign a cartoon character in a foam suit, moving papers, saying "signing" things. The video is downright bizarre.

In other words, AVB did go to hell when he left Spurs.

Maybe it's been offered to him in hopes that it will encourage him to settle down.
He really hasn't been a problem though, other than butting heads with AVB for 3 months when the entire team seemed to be butting heads with him (and after his brother died).

It's surprising he was named a VC, for sure. I was also surprised he went with Kaboul over Lloris, too.

That was awful.  No Europa League hangover excuse, as none of the 10 outfield players started in Belgrade.  I can't think of one player who had a good game except Lloris, who made a couple of decent saves.  So many misplaced passes, bad first touches, overhit crosses, players attempting to dribble through three players, poor set deliveries.  Where did all the movement and passing interchanges go?  They completely ran out of ideas in the final 15 minutes and just started thumping the ball up to Adebayor, hoping to win knockdowns -- not surprisingly, that didn't work.  And the second game in a row conceding a goal from a set piece.

Nice to be in good form with the derby next week.  Blech.

A pretty solid Forest team mid-week too. I haven't seen much of Spurs this year, but Forest is quite dangerous down the wings and has players who can finish.

I thought Soldado was fine when he came on.  Paulinho floated.

Dembele was decent.

Eriksen and Lamela seemed extremely tentatitve.

Chadli was invisable, as was Dyer.

Capoue did his job.

Kaboul actually played his best game of the season, rating a sold 4 out of 10.

Chiriches and Rose were awful.

That leaves Ade, who I got no read on at all this game.  I watched him play 90+ minutes, and have no opinion of his performance.

This was an AVB game.  Plan A didn't work, so Plan B was to force Plan A.  Say what you will about Sherwood and Arry when they were here (and I did), but Spurs were never handcuffed by rigidity when they managed here.

Do they even have the players to try a Plan B? There aren't many options on the bench. Lennon and Townsend have given them absolutely nothing thus far.

I don't want to see the Kaboul/Chiriches pairing ever again. I am already questioning Pochettino's sanity for starting them at all in the first place. Chiriches should have been sold at the window and needs to be stapled to the bench. Rose was awful but Davies looked pretty bad on Thursday against Partizan, so he isn't exactly pushing Rose for the spot.

Chadli is not very good, but at least he has converted chances this season.

Eriksen has been poor to start the season and it appears that he is being marginalized at the expense of Lamela.

I wish I knew why our 3rd best outfield player is relegated to cup duty.

I really hope it's an injury he's just working through.

And to spite me he then scored in the actual game. 2-1 Spurs.

Just saw the goal too, very nice--Townsend with a hard, low shot or pass into the box from behind Soldado, and he deflects it up and over keeper from about the penalty spot.

Kane in the 90th finishes it off, 3-1.

A good point.  They got a bit run over in midfield in the second half, but the back four had an excellent game.  Arsenal controlled possession but weren't able to create much in the way of clear-cut chances.  Spurs had opportunities on the break, but their decision-making and passing in those situations was poor, except for the goal.   Mason did not at all look out of his depth.  I thought Pocchetino waited too long to bring on a third central midfielder after the goal, especially with Spurs 1-0 up and most of the attacking players on yellow cards.

Lamela looked great. Kane didn't.

Did you see that howler he gave up?

Mark Chapman on MOTD just said this was Spurs worst start since 2008. Then the talk was about the manager...will he get time, he needs time, all managers need time etc etc. I had a brief vision of Pochettino getting the heave ho with ten games to go and within a mere sniff of a Europa League Spot and then they do the same dance yet again. Promote from within then recruit from without.  In this brief vision (and I'm not a fully qualified seer these days) the general feeling, from the future was this was not the right thing to do...that perhaps the problem is not the manager.

Here we have el Podgo (can i call him el Podgo, cos i do like it) questioning his players mentality.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/29779960

Now yesterday i was watching some punditry and the talk was of Southampton; and when a player goes to Southampton they get shown a video all about the 'Southampton Way' - they didn't go too much into detail about this 'way' but it seemed pretty wholesome and sound and intended to get the players onside from the get go...no prima donnas and all that, work hard train hard, we're building something beautiful and true, for the future and possibly the kids.

I think El Podgo (do i capitalize the E in El...I dunno, anyway El Podgo) walked into a good thing down at St Marys and it might well be the case down there that their 'way' engenders a good mentality and good attititude and now he's got a basis for comparison he can see something is rotten at the Lane...we don't know what that is....but it might have something to do with the fact the Chairman is a bit too trigger happy and there's no stability in the dressing room and unlike say Chelsea who have had similar periods (when the owner got all piow piow) the Spurs dressing room is not full of winners...or leaders...or latter day saints or the kind of stuff of men we want to see in the dressing room if we were permitted access to such holy palaces.

El Podgo is a good manager, but then so was AVB, so was Harry, who the fuck was Jaques Santini, I don't remember him at all. Anyway, the pundits, cos this all came from the pundits and my 'vision' which indicated that the manager has a vision and it takes time to get that across, we know all this...especially those of us who have visions...it takes time. If Liverpool can give Rodgers time, why can't Spurs give a manager time. 'Arry got four years, outside of that you have to go back to El Tel Vegetables who got four years...1987-91. Spurs just don't do continuity with their managers. Is Clive Allen still drawing a cheque or Pleaty?

I've kept this post light  hearted cos i think if I was a Spurs fan I'd be nearing my wit's end. It seems that when Arsenal stumble Spurs have to fall down a manhole, when the wheels come off at The Emirates, theres a full blown crash at The Lane...When Arsenal are weak, Spurs must be weaker. Levi is a smart man in business i presume, but this football thing, i really don't know.

Matt Law of the Torygraph, backs me up somewhat...(keep in  mind he's not as good a writer as I am, nor is he or was he a seer.)

Daniel Levy will not wake up on Monday morning and blame himself. After all, he did not decide to drop midweek hat-trick hero Harry Kane to the substitutes’ bench or switch off at the start of the second half to allow Newcastle United to equalise.

However, with every managerial change, every false dawn and every step backwards, it is becoming increasingly clear that the root of Tottenham Hotspur ’s problems lie at the door of chairman Levy.

Nacier Chadli?  The guy that has started 9 league games and is our leading scorer in the Prem?

I think it's safe to say he's in our first XI.

Spurs are getting walloped by a Hull side featuring Mchael Dawson, Jake Livermore, and Tom Huddlestone.

Shoot me now.

A much needed three points, even if rather unconvincing. They got very lucky that Ramirez was so stupid. Eriksen ran the game after the red card and was easily the best player on the pitch.

Still, they are now level on points with Arsenal and are only two points out of fourth. Spurs have been downright mediocre this year, but so has the rest of the league, so the door is open if they can improve.

I just finished watching.

The all three levels of the team looked like they had never played together before. When Ramirez got sent off, it really opened up the game for Eriksen to dictate the tempo of the game.

I really think our best mid is Dembele--Capoue behind Lamela--Ericksen--Chadli, but with injuries, I know this isn't possible right now. I thought Dembele (who has played the least of those 5 obviously) looked okay there, even if he had trouble linking to the front.

Paulinho sighting!

Six fire engines and 35 firefighters fought the blaze at Archway Sheet Metal Works, in Paxton Road, for almost three hours.
They were called to the building at 5.18am, when half of the ground floor and all of the first floor of the building were already alight.
The family-owned firm stands on the proposed site of the new White Hart Lane stadium. The owners have been involved in a 12-year legal wrangle with Spurs over the the club’s bid to buy them out, and are challenging a compulsory purchase order (CPO) in the High Court.

Who is that chappy wearing the 9 shirt that scored?

I like the cut of his jib.
