Ditto. Also, 3 transfers/week? You take those transfer penalties every week?
I had a terrible start. Once it was clear that I was doomed to hover in the West Brom/Stoke/Southampton zone, I said fuck-it and just picked the best possible team each week. I had fun despite the penalties. Won't do that again.

Last season was the first I realized I could play the three "wild-cards". This season, I hope to do so with some intelligence or guile.
Top 3rd or bust!

OK, new league code is
387847-94759

You have to create your team first and populate it with players (any players will do, you can change like crazy up until the first week). Then join this league.

I've never felt more like Singing the Blues, when Wednesday win and United lose, Oh Wednesday...you've got me Singing the Blues.

Oh, and in as Here for the Beer FC, the name of my thoroughly mediocre indoor squad.

Back in as Lovren o'er Me.

Was completely new to fantasy futbal when I first joined a couple years ago, but have enjoyed the process of figuring things out. Participating definitely has cause me to be much more interested in the BPL and soccer in general, which I never would have expected a decade ago.

And IIRC, dang-you Halifax for beating me out for 4th place last year during the last week!

You're welcome

I had actually been in first place for awhile but the last month killed me - too many injuries.

Back in as Lads on Toure.

Looking for redemption after my pitiful title defense last season, during which I figuratively left my baby to die in a baking hot car with the windows up following a less than ideal first half of the season.

Changes to the chips this year - from the Rules section of the FPL site:

be used to potentially enhance your team's performance during the season.

Only one chip can be played in a single Gameweek. The chips available are as follows:

Name Effect
Bench Boost The points scored by your bench players in the next Gameweek are included in your total.

Free Hit Make unlimited free transfers for a single Gameweek. At the next deadline your squad is returned to how it was at the start of the Gameweek.

Triple Captain Your captain points are tripled instead of doubled in the next Gameweek.

Wildcard All transfers (including those already made) in the Gameweek are free of charge.

The Bench Boost and Triple Captain chips can each be used once a season and are played when saving your team on the my team page. They can be cancelled at anytime before the Gameweek deadline.

The Free Hit chip can be used once a season, is played when confirming your transfers and can't be cancelled after confirmed.

The Wildcard chip can be used twice a season. The first wilcard will be available from the start of the season until 30 Dec 14:00. The second wildcard will be available after this date in readiness for the January transfer window opening and remain available until the end of the season. The Wildcard chip is played when confirming transfers that cost points and can't be cancelled once played.
The All Out Attack chip is no more.

For sure - its usage seems to be designed for a situation where you have a bunch of short term injuries where you expect your regular lineup back to normal next week. And maybe as a precursor to the regular wildcard to test out your changes.
I think its best application isn't injuries but situations where clubs have a double gameweek followed by either a blank, a run of especially difficult fixtures, or a fixture congestion with a high likelihood of rotation. You can use the chip to capture the double gameweek points without taking on those players' long-term risks.

Agree - hadn't thought of that scenario .. it definitely adds an extra bit of strategy.

I won't miss the All Out Attack chip .. didn't use it last year. I think on many teams the third striker is usually complete drek. It least it has been in my experience. (Do you realize how hard it is to find a striker under 4 million pounds!)

I gues it really depends on team composition though. To each their own. I generally favoured a 4-5-1 or 3-5-2 lineup when I could.

As the Alex Ferguson of the SOSH EPL, I'm back as Dier Another Day for another title-defending campaign.

Back as Dolce & Lallana.

I'll try to improve on my patented terrible start, strong mid-season form to get within shouting distance of the top, only to run out of gas and sputter to the finish. And it would be nice to end the season with a squad value higher than where it starts this year...

About the only thing that I have done right in the three years I’ve played this game is to triple captain Sergio Aguero two times they played Newcastle.

I just burned 32 points this week because only one scrub player of mine had a game this week week. I have a feeling this isn’t going to end well - or I should have looked st the schedule coming up before I burned my transfer card.
