Songs and Chants

I was hoping we could aggregate some of the best football songs and chants in one place. It's one of my favorite things about footy, and makes for an atmosphere that you don't see in professional sports in the US. I'd love to see videos, hear lyrics, whatever...let me know what your team does or other songs/chants you love.

A couple of starters:

I love Irish folk music, and love the song Fields of Athenrye, but the performance by the Irish fans at Euro 2012 against spain was so awesome. The chorus of the song is sung with such defiance towards the results of the game and such love for their team. I watch this video every few months just to get goosebumps.



Too catchy and funny to not post, just a legendary chant. Apparently the Wigan Chairman gave the guy who invented it a season ticket.

He will score goals, he will just score more and more, and that's what we signed him for
Will Griggs on fire, your defense is terrified!

As far as chants go, I've always been partial to the "Where were you when you were shit?" or the "You're just a shit (insert rival club)" Another good version is the "Are you just (insert shitty club) in disguise?"

I hate English teams and players, but I love the English fans. They are much more creative in their singing. Probably as there´s much more English songs which can be easily re-texted.

You just don´t see special songs for players in Germany..it´s funny, creative and somehow heart-warming.

I was living in London during the 2004 Euro Cup. At the time, every pub you went to had this chant going at various point in the night. Not sure if it's still a thing or if it was just a fad, but it's a fun memory.

Of course, the chants all ended when Beckham missed that penalty kick.

The best version of this is AFC Wimbledon's "Where were you when you were us" at MK Dons fans.
