I'm not complaining, but at some point this becomes skirting the salary cap, right?  If I were an NFL suit I'd want to but some kind of cap on the monetary value of the diamonds & precious metals.

Why?

Getting a SB ring in a capped league is such an unlikely contingency that no player in his right mind is going to choose one team over another based on the possibility that the ring they get is worth 10,000 more than one from another team.

I suppose, but there's a limit on what teams can do as far as giving players tickets because they are considered compensation, I don't see why this would be any different.

Alternate theory: the cheapie owners don't want this to escalate so they have the league enact a limit, that way they can keep costs down without looking like the bad guys.

But as I said, I'm not complaining.

Sorry, brother, but you're worrying about somebody's money that I couldn't give a rat's patoot about. That is, Robert Kraft - bless his heart - can drop a half a mill with nary an extra bead of sweat. That has no more bearing on the salary cap than the likelihood of any good team going to and winning the Super Bowl. You want a chance at a bunch o' bling? Don't sign with the Jaguars...

This has always bothered me. Never change the name of a boat. He should buy a new one after each win.
Or just do what Woody Johnson does with his yacht No Rings.

Here
Maybe this belongs here better, but seriously, fuck the NFL:

@Bensmithten: @bkravitz thanks Bob! We have to get permission even though it's on Twitter. Will be used on our "America's Game" program featuring the Pats.
The NFL getting permission to use Kravitz's tweets.

All Access just had video of the ring ceremony on. Great stuff. I ran across it by accident since Concast had Wheel of Fortune listed and I had CBS on earlier today.

Have not seen this photo before. It's awesome.

Of course Blount finds a way to weasel his way into a defense-only picture. Never seen a guy do so little, and mug for the camera so much. After Butler's pick, he was hanging all over him. Maybe they really are best friends or something, but in my mind, he knew all the cameras would be on Malcolm and wanted some screen time.

I have an irrational hatred for Blount and want him off the team ASAP. Mostly because I am unimpressed with his slow-ass running style, and the fact that Jonas Gray is one of my binkies.

The rest of that pic is pretty damn cool. Good find.

I am unimpressed with this post. Blount Does His Job. I'd like him to magically be faster too, I guess.

He must not have gotten the memo that offensive players and defensive players aren't supposed to commingle. Seriously, being "all over" the guy that just made the play that won the game? What selfish jerk.

The camera mugging is just window dressing. Most of my dislike for him comes from his blocking a potentially better (IMO) player.

Carry on.
