Cheap date? He probably hasn’t had a drop of alcohol since the Houston Series last season. Drink up Mookie!

I imagine they're all on an empty stomach too. It's easy to feel it after chugging a beer or two having not eaten beforehand.

And the beer is Sam Octoberfest and Sam Lager. Not the strongest stuff but it ain’t bud light.

Side note: not that they should care but stale Sam probably has the worst smell of any beer I can recall. That locker room is gonna stink like no other tomorrow

Couldn’t go to the game but just walked through GCT to catch my train as all of the stadium trains coming south were arriving. Just started high fiving people with Sox gear on and starting “let’s go Red Sox” chants. The dejected Yankee fans all put their heads down and shuffled on, no fight left in em. Quite acceptable.

Dunno how many of you guys stayed up watching but they were targeting anyone being interviewed for champagne showers and Mookie was getting it repeatedly and he said oh no his phone is in his pocket can someone send him a new phone do you think we should send Mookie a new phone? Mookie needs us!!

That’s funny, I never saw Mookie in the inside celebration. However, I only saw what MLBN had (no NESN). When Mookie got out to the mash of players around the mound after Stanton struck out, he looked like a little kid that they wouldn’t let in. The humblest superstar.

I boarded a plane when we were up 8-6 with Devers on first. Nice to land to this. What a year.

Now to spend ten days rooting for the A’s.

And for all the hand-wringing, we win a battle of the bullpen with Wright, Brasier, and Kimbrel putting up a 5IP, 2H, 0BB, 0R, 5K line. That will get it done.

This is what I was gonna say. I think there’s every reason to believe they lose by like 10 runs tomorrow (well technically, tonight).

And nobody in Red Sox Nation should care.

    Hell of an accomplishment.

Can’t remember past protocol but I don’t think it should count against the thread starter if they lose tonight with the Boston College lineup they will no doubt be trotting out.

The YES Post Game Show after a MFY loss is one of life's great schadenfreude pleasures.

There was a lot to choose from but my two favorite were:

    1. Aaron Boone congratulating the Sox on a great REGULAR season. So cheesy, the way he said that.

    2. Michael Kay hyping the "Sox will feel all the pressure in the playoffs with that big win total" angle.

As mentioned last night, it was pretty glorious at the Can. Nothing out of the ordinary (ho hum), but the gathering of Sox fans around my section (behind Sox dugout but not in Legends) at the end of the game was just fun to be in, and seeing the sad and defiant Yankees fans was special. Two guys walked past us from below in the Legends section; one was doing the hat tip and the other was giving us the finger. Too funny.

Yankee fans deserve all they get for crowing how the division was over when they got Stanton for cheap.

One more schadenfreude set of thoughts.

Yes, most MFY fans are Giants fans. But not all. Many root for the Jets. The thought of the mindset of Yankees/Jets fans this morning is too good not to at least mention.

Leaving the Monument to Greed and Soullessness, it was especially fun informing other Sox fans that the Jets were on the verge of losing to the Browns, and well, if Jets fans also heard that, sorry....

Last night was awesome. By the end of the game I was surrounded by Sox fans behind the Sox dugout (we moved over from the Yankees side when my buddy left in the 8th - he said he wasn't going to stick around to watch the Sox celebrate and I can't say I blame him) and I enjoyed the open bar in the Legends Club maybe just a wee bit too much. Whatever, how often do you get an open bar at a sporting event? I also accosted Sam Kennedy to congratulate him... I'm sure he appreciated that

I look at my recordings all the time, like everyone I’m sure, to see what I should delete. This game, I look at it, decide to watch Mookie’s at bats (the home run 3 or 4 times) then Brock’s HR, then Jackie’s, then the Beast in the 9th. Maybe Hicks’ idiot play. Nah, keep it. It’s a classic AFAIAC, as long as you ignore Edro’s pitching. Of course, the game went so long that I have it in 2 recordings because I only added 30 minutes extension to the game recording and had to record “postgame”. Too bad you can’t splice recordings.
