I know I am overeacting and I am sure to most this isnt a big deal, but to me this is bullshit.

The Celtics have one of the best and timeless classic uniforms ever, not just in the NBA but all sports.  Just dont mess with it..  What is below is atrocious and looks like a track uniform or something.

I really hate the sleeves look in general, but those are just hideous.

EDIT:  Marbleheader proves my point.  Those uniforms, although not great, are an enormous upgrade over the dreck that Bayless is wearing.

have never quite understood the hate for sleeved uniforms. mostly feels like an old man "get off my lawn" argument but it seems to span multiple generations of fans.

It could be worse, they could be neon green or some god-awful camouflage. One trend I hate in uniforms, especially in college, is that they are aiming to get more outlandish with neon. I blame the University of Nike/Oregon for this trend, for making the uniforms and then marketing the shit out of them to teens and young adults, and then Baylor jumped on, and now it seems like everyone is doing it. My point is that although these uniforms are crappy, they could be A LOT worse.

As far as sleeves go, I'm all for them as well as they are tastefully done. Many college players were undershirts, and nobody makes a stink about that, and this is basically an extension of that. Some teams do it better then others, the Warriors had a nice look going but then ruined it with an inexplicably poor choice for shorts:

You'd think a team called the "Celtics" would have a Shamrock on their St. Paddy's Day uniform, wouldn't you?
You mean like the one they have on the back of all their uniforms? I haven't seen the back of this atrocity, but I assume they do.

As for why I don't like the sleeved shirts, it has nothing to do with the sleeves themselves. (Warriors aside) They all look too tight, too short, and uncomfortable. At least soccer shirts have a little breathing room, and college kids wear a loose regular uni shirt over the undershirt. Maybe that's the curmudgeon in me, though...

I agree. Personally, I can't stand the black outline they added around the jersey numbers a couple seasons ago on the traditional home whites and road greens. It irks the living shit out of me everytime I watch a game and they show closeups of the players.   I wish they'd get rid of the alternate also.

I actually don't mind it in practice. I wish they were white instead of gold, but I don't think they're the disaster they looked like in the PR shots. The shorts are more objectionable.
