Given Philadelphia's defensive overaggressiveness, have to think the gameplan involves a fair share of rub routes and double moves. I look no further than the most recent Giants(!) game and Rams game for evidence that this can be a successful plan offensively. It honestly is why Atlanta lost badly, as Sarkisian choose consistently slow developing plays, with obvious dino stems, making it one of THE worst gameplans I've seen.

Defensively, RPOs specifically: In the NFCCG only 14.3% (9/63) of offensive snaps were RPOs for the Eagles, with a 5:4 rush to pass ratio within those (gaining 3:2:8.3 yards within each respective option), within six formations, none attempted within either 20-yard line, and notably most on an early down. Hopefully, the nickel can come up big (Flowers, Brown, etc.); got to stop Blount and Ajayi (Clement concerns me on wheel routes, so while he applies, it's a different aspect of their offense, hence a separate mention) so that an extra (seventh) man won't have to be committed to the run. It's why I believe the Eagles get a fair share of scoring, but not quite enough given the CRITICALLY important increase in rush defense quality of late.
It will be quite tasty (I might even say “ironic” but I’m afraid of another round of Alanis joke, don’t you think) if the Pats win by adhering to “The Giants Blueprint” (TM).

As far as usefulness goes I have always thought the "Giants Blueprint" is only a half step below the John Madden strategy advice of "Score More Points Than Your Opponents".

Get constant pressure with 4 guys? Make crazy long catches in clutch situations? Make it hard for the quarterback to throw? Yea, duh.

"Play better!"

Here
I’m with you but maybe I’m just wishcasting. It would be the best thing ever if he made a crucial play in a Pats SB win.
Their backup LT kinda stinks, so I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see Harrison make a play or two. I’ve gone on record predicting he has a strip sack.

As for my tongue in cheek, “Giants Blueprint”, I was referring to what DJJ and others have referenced, namely that the way to beat Philly is to replicate the uptempo offense that NYG used to rack up over 500yds of offense.

As for the LT, I keep reading that he is susceptible to speed rushes but then say that could be good for Harrison. Meanwhile the RT is supposedly susceptible to bull rushes so that’s tailor made for Flowers. Wouldn’t it be the reverse with Harrison going power and Flowers going speed?

Daily News mobile app has a story on a bunch of Eagles players are fighting the flu or a cold.

Soemething to keep in mind as the game wears on. I’m sure lots of people here remember the flu game versus the Colts.

Hope the Pats didn’t get it beyond Malcolm.

Clearly Belichick set up some kind of infection protocol. I commend his commitment to winning.

Somehow I've gone this entire 2 weeks without remembering until today that Gronkowski played with Foles in college.

FWIW, the latest flu report from Pennsylvania had the southeastern portion of the state as the hardest hit:

In Pennsylvania, the number of reported flu cases last week was the highest weekly count since 2003, though flu is not a disease that must be reported, so the state does not learn of all cases. Nate Wardle, a public information officer for the Health Department, said that the state’s ability to count flu has improved markedly, particularly since the H1N1 pandemic of 2009.

The percentage of Pennsylvania emergency department patients with flu symptoms also rose, the Pennsylvania report said. It was highest in the southeastern part of the state, where it was above 5 percent. The state does not release precise numbers.

In the simulacrum
This has actually been my biggest 'injury' worry for the pats coming into the game. The flu bug this year is not messing around. If the story has legs, the Iggles are in trouble.

Can't believe we still have over 24 hours to wait for this game to start.
+1
I had to go into the office today. Brought my son on the train. Then he and a babysitter went NYC exploring before meeting up with Mom and sis at AMNH. I’ll meet them, plus my niece for dinner. That takes care of today.
When we get home, and tomorrow afternoon, it will be all house-cleaning all the time before guests arrive.

Buying Celtics tickets for the noon game tomorrow. Usually makes for a great Super Bowl Sunday... plus it knocks off about 4 hours of sitting in front of the TV. Always a great atmosphere in the Garden when the Pats are playing later. The energy on the way out of the game is something to behold. Last year was Pierce's final game in the Garden, which gave it an extra boost.

For the first time in their many visits to the big game, it falls on my birthday. Husband and I are going for a famous long NYC brunch, then I'm making the Union Oyster House recipe for clam chowder and bacon jalapeno cornbread. Winning ring number six would be the greatest birthday gift I could imagine.

How crazy is it that they can even think of an annual superbowl photo?

Pats/Seattle replay on NFL Network. At 10pm, it's Pats/Falcons.
Falcons just abusing Pats. 28-3 now. F*ck... I’ll watch the rest just because, but the cliff has arrived. Fun 16 years. Hope Jimmy ready to go in September.

Do you think we can get a 3rd for Brady in offseason?

EDIT: Oh shit, look at that run by Brady!

Aikman: Atlanta is perfectly happy letting them drive and take up time.

Uh huh.

I drove from Kingston, RI to Worcester today. The highway safety signs in RI said “Go Pats! Drive Super Sober this Sunday”

Mass signs were better. “Do Your Job. Don’t Drink And Drive.”

My confidence in a decisive victory is rising. I’m down in PA right now visiting family, and seeing all the folks in the hotel in their Philly gear, my reaction isn’t one of contempt, but more like “aw, isn’t that cute?” I even told a couple I’d happy for them if it went their way - just don’t burn down their town no matter what happens (to their credit, they laughed).

Kickoff can’t come soon enough.

Yeah, I was outside Philly last night and I was astounded/amused at the level of excitement. Almost used the exact words you wrote (“isn’t that cute”) which is funny, since I’m one of them. (But not really one of them, if you know what I mean.)

I had dinner with a friend last night and noted that Nick Foles must be chagrined at the fact that 50% of the local population is walking around in Carson Wentz jerseys.

I heard last night that the NFL is doing some stadium security in the mall then busing people to the stadium rather than making them stand for hours outside the stadium in zero degrees to go thru security. Smart.

We used to show up at noon for a football game in October for the 1pm game, then the 4pm game... but really leading up to a Sox World Series game at 7 or whatever.
That was...intense.
I died that year (Sox, Pats, C’s, and Bruins all had great years (some ending better than others))
