Holy shit.

Lundqvist has been superb tonight. Pittsburgh blowing decent chances by losing the puck, missing the net, etc. has certainly helped.

So will the Pens fire Bylsma like Mr. Spacely yelling at George Jetson? Hope they do it at center ice right after the game

you are complete fools if you want to play against Lundqvist.  He's in a total zone.
As one of the nervous ones I'll admit that I don't care who wins this series or any of the series other than the one the B's are in.  I'll worry about the ECF when it's time and not before.

Not that I give a shit, but that should have been a penalty, right?

On that final PIT rush from the left? Not from my vantage point. No hold, no trip. He just knocked him down.

EDIT - brain fart. PIT, not NYR

Major changes coming to Pittsburgh.

entire coaching staff gots to go, Shero gots to go, so much of the roster gots to go.  If somebody came through with a big offer for Crosby (top 6 winger, #1/#2 dman and a couple/three 1st round picks) I'd ship him out of town.  The culture has to change.  Malkin played his guts out tonight, Sid was invisible like he has been for a long, long time.

you cannot be serious? You want to trade the best player in hockey? I hate the guy, but that's insane.

I'm not sure he's the best player in hockey any more.  He had 10 goals in his last 43 games this season.  He had one in 13 playoff games.  He says he's healthy.  So, I don't know.

Crosby can't do it, and they need to stock their 3rd and 4th line.

Trading him would be asking a lot of the fanbase, in that they'd likely be mediocre for 2-3 seasons, but all things considered it might not be a bad idea. Boston's Big Joe Thornton trade is instructive.

For that kind of package you'd probably deal anybody, or almost anybody...I'd trade him for Pietrangelo, Jaden Schwartz, and a 1st and never look back.

Interesting that on the postgame Keith Jones (I think it was Jones) put all the blame on Bylsma and applauded Ray Shero. I'm cool with Bylsma getting the axe, but doesn't Shero have questions to answer? There's not a lot of depth after their top 4 forwards and top 3 D.

yes, like I said they both have to go.  The roster construction is awful.  Old/small guys in the bottom six, the defense is not good, the drafts have not been good.  They have no size, no forward prospects, it really needs to be overhauled.

I'm not even sure they'd be "mediocre" - last time they had Malkin and not Crosby he was the best player in the game and won all kinds of hardware.  It's not like there's that big a dropoff, if any.

If you're going by skill, maybe, but even then he may not be the most skilled and/or best player on his own team. And when you include all 3 zones, Kopitar. Datsyuk, and Getzlaf probably all bring more success in different facets, to their team, than Sid.
