Game 7 - Tue, 5/13 - TBA - Rangers @ Penguins (TBA)*

They'll play back-to-back for Games 2 & 3. For Game 5, I'm thinking it'll be another 7 pm start on NBCSN just like Game 1, with Blackhawks-Wild on the back end of a national double-header. Game 6 will probably be in prime time on NBCSN, with CHI-MIN playing a game 5 matinee. Game 7 will almost certainly be on NBCSN, with either a 7:00 or 7:30 start depending on whether they throw Hawks-Wild Game 6 on CNBC or have another doubleheader on NBCSN. I'm guessing the former.

So that's going to be a total of five games in seven nights for the Rags, starting this past Tuesday. That really should give the Penguins a big advantage.

Huge advantage for Pitt. Considering the NHL playoffs are partially a war of attrition, this helps the Rangers not at all. This is the fault of the Rangers, tho.

Fluery self destructs yet again. Rangers in 5 and brienc leaves town to get away from foaming at the mouth, knuckle dragging rags fans.

These teams always seem to play close games, but the Penguins have a huge advantage in center depth and rest (to start the series).  They better jump on them early and often.

and people can make fun of or expect MAF to meltdown, I won't argue with them, but he was 2.81/.908 in the first round, that's the exact same save percentage he had when they won the Cup.  That's what they need, they don't need him to be 1986 Patrick Roy.

Can't wait to see which one of these teams wins the Eastern Conference Silver Medal.

Fleury needs to be better but there was a lot of suck in front of him too.  Turnover, terrible coverage by the d-men and Crosby, it all needs to be better.  And they've come out not getting a shot until 7 minutes into the game.

There have been 25 Eastern Conference playoff games. Pierre McGuire has called 18 of them. After tomorrow, it will be 19 of 26.

what is it with you and Fleury? You defend him constantly and while I agree that the Pens suck defensively he lets in a ridiculous amount of awful goals. I mean no matter how bad their team D has been, Fleury should still not be letting in a lot of these goals he has in the playoffs. It's obvious he sucks and is a head case come playoff time.

He isn't singularly the problem, no matter how much people try to spin it.

no one is solely blaming it on him. That doesn't take away the fact that he fucking blows in the playoffs ever since 2009. He is as big of a problem for the Pens as anything else. You don't think he should've easily stopped that first goal?

I said he needs to be better - he needs to make that stop, but there's no need to turn that puck over, to have poor defensive coverage, or to come out looking like the team playing three games in four nights.

i think where our disagreement is, is that he probably is their biggest problem right now, with defense and coaching a close second.

That's all well and good. He still has to stop that shot.

Put it this way, I think if you swap fleury out for one of the top 7 or so goalies in the league, Pittsburgh would probably be the favorite, right up there with the Bruins

If you think another goalie is gonna fix the defensive trainwreck I respectfully disagree

That goal wasn't soft. Still, Richards juked and Fleury flopped to the ground. But that goal was on the defense, agreed.

Is anyone else's sound messed up? Loud ice and board sounds, very low announcer volume.
I'm not sure I'd call it messed up...

The problem with Fleury (as I see it) is that on a team where Crosby/Malkin are getting like 50% of the cap and he's getting like 25% they can't afford for him to be this unsteady. If he were a lesser name putting up those numbers and only getting 15% of the cap they could have a better bottom 6/2. But they can't afford that so they need him to be a level or two better.
He was 26th in GAA and 39th in SV% this year. That's replacement level, no?

I may or may not have read that someplace else that I can't currently remember or I'd link it.

My sound is atrocious. I can barely hear the announcing. Something is off.
