So, I agreed to go to this game this Sunday with the Crew. My nephew is a Crew fan from Columbus.
I am coming from Central CT.
Are there places to drink before the game ?
Is there an away pub ?
Or is it all parking lot ?
I know nothing about Newark and this stadium.

I really, really appreciate any help.

Because it will be a big travel day, I will probably be there way before hand.

I've only been via NJTransit. There was a good tailgate scene from what I spied walking past. Good concession options with the usual new stadium array of beers beyond Bud/Bud Light
There's really nothing nearby otherwise. We bought beers at a liquor store on the way from the train station for the walk

Leaving in a bit to the studio :)
Technically, the stadium is in Harrison, NJ, in case you google for anything.

Tremendous ethnic restaurants across the river between Raymond Blvd. and Market/Ferry St in the Ironbound district, mostly Caribbean and Central and South American (my son has been playing soccer at Riverfront and Riverbanks Parks for more years than I care to remember)

As far as I know there's no away supporters bar per se but if you walk over toward Newark Penn station there are a few decent bars and I doubt you'd get too much hassle from Red Bulls fans.

RBA is a great place. I'll be there myself on Sunday. Not a bad seat in the place and plenty of good brews as noted. Seriously underrated NY sports venue. Hope you enjoy it.

Nice stadium. The Revs really need a stadium like this. Beer prices are crazy high in the stadium though. The sold Beck's as an import even though it is owned by Bud and made in the U.S. now (for $11.00). Only remedy is not to drink.
