He was off, but there's no way the linesman knew it. Totally impossible to see in realtime, especially from where he was. I have a problem with officiating by guessing. That call is a lottery.

Hard to think of a better pure shot stopper than Mignolet. He just can't do much else about the position very well.

Can't complain about a point away to Spurs, but it could have been 3 easily. Mané's offside goal (the flag went up long after the ball was in the net, so if Lallana was offside it was a pretty delayed reaction), Wijnaldum's chance off Alderweireld's torso, Firmino on the break being left short by Sturridge (I think?) and putting the ball a bit behind Lallana...

The quality of play really deteriorated towards the end of the Liverpool Tottenham match. The defensive organization on the part of Liverpool especially was horrendous. Henderson is not suited for playing as a screening midfielder.

Palace gives up an early goal, seemingly get bailed out by a soft penalty, which Boruc promptly stops on Cabaye. Good times at Selhurst Park this morning. Though Mandanda and Benteke have started, so more things change...

I will say Benteke has looked pretty good for Palace so far. He earned the penalty and a nice free kick.

Holy shot Boruc with a save on a ridiculous shot by Townsend.

Alexis and Ozil savaged Watford's defense in that first half. Giving up an uncontested header goal to the latter should be a suspendable offense.

Everton dominant against Stoke, several very good chances, but juuust lacking that little bit of quality. Not doing enough to get Lukaku involved. Still, keeping their shape and playing well from the back. Much improved from last year.

Those two really looked great together. I was surprised to not see Giroud starting. I'd put him up top and take Walcott out.

Complete nut punch for Stoke keeper, Given. Everton draw a penalty, Baines takes it, Given gets a hand on it and pushes it wide. Ball hits post. Ball ricochets off post. Ball hits Given (who is prone on the ground) in the back. Ball ricochets back into the net for an OG. Happened so fast you could barely see it. Brutal.

A goal. An actual goal! Totally outplayed Bournemouth and Scott Dann gets us a point. Must have had 100 shots in the second half and it takes till just about the last one to go in.

Watching Gladbach-Leverkusen. Wow, the level of play is so high. Great goal just now by Leverkusen. Excellent one-touch outside-foot cross, good organized penetration to the goal to get in position for a header to a free teammate.
Gladbach didn't mark super well but that was a great team goal

Edit:need a bundesliga thread but my drive by post shouldn't be the first

Probably driven mostly by injuries, but Bilic is pulling out the 5-3-2 (or 3-5-2 depending how you count the wingbacks) against City's 4-5-1 (or 4-2-3-1). That's an interesting tactical matchup, though West Ham's best players are mostly still hurt so I'd expect a City win.

And once again West Ham don't go a man up for 20 minutes in a 1 goal game due to referee incompetence. Aguero will get a retroactive ban which helps us not at all.
