Well the one thing I learned from today's matches is that both Liverpool and Arsenal (at least they had injuries I guess) are horrendous at the back.
This is a wide wide open race for Europe. If anyone in the top 12 can pull a 2016 Leicester and actually defend well they have a shot at the top 6, maybe 4.

Injuries .. I would like to point out Liverpool were missing their starting Keeper and two CBs. Both Sakho and Matip would be first choice in all likelihood over Klavan and Lovren. That being said Pool's main defensive problem is Moreno .. for which there's no current replacement.

Fair, I thought Klavan and Lovren were going to be the starters.
Honestly though I think both sides aren't very good in defense anyway. I think there are going to be a ton of goals this year, West Ham, Man City, Man U, Arsenal, Liverpool, all look much better attacking than defending.

Klavan has been a pleasant surprise and may very well end up first choice .. But Lovren is behind Sakho, Matip and Klaven methinks.

I think you're right about the offense though .. Lots and lots of goals.

Arsenal were also missing their first, second, and third choice CBs.

The site crashed before I had a chance to congratulate all the SoSH scousers on the win. Very fun game even if my team finished with the worse scoreline.

To be fair to both defenses, the least impressive goal out of the seven was a deft flick by Chambers. There was some amazing finishing today.

California. Duh.
Yeah, it's not too often you get 4 by Cech, and he really had very little chance at any of them. You won't see a much better free kick than Coutinho's first.

This is really a game Spurs should have won. They've thoroughly controlled the second half, and even in the first half when they played well Everton weren't generating much, really just capitalizing on Tottenham mistakes.
Couldn't find my way back to a computer this weekend but I wanted to respond to this. I don't think that's really fair at all. Everton were the far more threatening side throughout the first half and generated enough on their own in addition to Spurs mistakes. It wouldn't have been unfair for Spurs to have taken it but I thought the teams played quite even with Spurs having the better of it after their tactical shift late.

West Ham not exactly putting out their best lineup against Chelsea:

Best defender on the bench, Payet on the bench, Feghouli injured in training.
I would also point out a winger playing RB, but I knew Bilic was going to do that.

Andy Carroll beat Kante with the ball at his feet forcing Kante to pick up a yellow for a professional foul in the 3rd minute. The end times are here.

Payet was always going to struggle to get back for this game given his deep run in the Euros. Chelsea benching Cesc was a bit of a gamble as they now have Oscar and Matic is the middle in front of Kante.

West Ham did put a pretty offensive group out there though, and Chelsea is finding a little room going forward so far, Ivanovic has had a few decent plays so far already.

Oscar decides to embellish light contact, doesn't get the penalty and loses a great chance he would have had if he went through.

Edit- and Costa gets a yellow for dissent for chasing the ref across the field.

Oh great Ayew pulled a qaud.
Too early for Payet likely, Lanzini and Feghouli injured, probably have to go to Tore, so the 5th or 6th best winger.

Only 1 sub left for West Ham, so unlikely we see Payet unless it's for 10 minutes at the end.

Anthony Taylor randomly decided not to give yellows, Costa a late challenge on the keeper, doesn't get a yellow.

I wonder if Costa doesn't get one earlier if he gets one there, seems like it should have been a yellow. Nice to see Hazard get a goal early even if it was a PK. Wall lucky for West Ham there as well hit two arms on the way in I've seen a PK given for less in a wall.

He definitely should have gotten one either way, that's a late tackle on a field player, on a goalkeeper it's even worse.

PS Payet scares the crap out of me, even for 24 minutes. What a fantastic player.

And...Collins with the Equalizer...after a Payet in swinger plays plinko around the box off of arms and legs into the top corner. Sigh.

And now Kante commits another bookable offense, no second yellow.
Taylor is a hack.
Yeah this ref is not good, if you don't want to give a second yellow, why bother giving early yellows. Totally ruins the whole point of the early yellow.

Well that was one hell of some long ball offense, not exactly pretty but in the 89th/90th minute pretty goes out the book.

Well Chelsea was better. Though infuriating that we should have been up 1 maybe 2 men the last 25 minutes, instead lose on a goal by the player who should have been a no doubt sent off.
