That was awesome to watch.  The game is in good hands, I think.  The next decade or so should be a lot of fun.

I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a little dusty over here.

Pretty damn good way to end the last Major of a fantastic year of golf.  My only fear is that everything from now to end of the FedEx playoffs will be a let down. I can't remember a more enjoyable season to watch as a fan, at least not in an individual sport.

Welp, kind of a boring Sunday but it's nice to see Day walk away with one. He's been in the mix so many times and has mostly been solid. He should have a couple more majors before he's done. Spieth remains impressive. Didn't have his A-game and still came in second.

This is over. Day will move to number three in the world. Remember a couple of months ago, when it was declared that Rickie Fowler was the new member of golf's "big three?" Which was itself just a week or two after he was declared most overrrated by his peers.

Fast moving game, this one.

The most distinctive thing about Fowler's game is his choice of apparel. The announcers must like drinking with him or something.

Only can echo the above. What a year of golf this has been and the game is in a great spot going forward. I continue to marvel at one a genuinely great man Jordan speith appears to be at 22. Five top 5 finishes in his last five majors with two wins and two seconds.

Haha Spieth was -54 at the majors this year. JDay comes in 2nd at -35.

What a fucking year for that kid. Holy fuck.

I think this year of majors proves that Golf has moved beyond Tiger Woods or has emerged from the shadow of the Woods era. Some great young players with their best years ahead of them.  And some veterans who can still compete.

Whoa, I think that's going a bit far. A year ago we were finishing up a season where Fowler was top 5 in all four majors. He didn't match that this season, but winning the Players isn't exactly winning in Hawaii in January. Prior to an hour ago he had just as good a resume as Day and is two years younger. Let's pump the brakes on shitting on Fowler.

While this is true and I agree I would like to know what the ratings and other measurables show. Just wondering if the sport stil maintains broad appeal or if it back to being a niche for diehards like is.

I think he's only one year younger. And Day has a few more wins.

Golf is down in the amateur world, but as to professional just keep an eye on the sponsors for tournaments and the purses. If those remain steady you have your answer.

Yes, I thought they said he was 28 on the telecast but looking he will turn 28 in a couple months. He has 5 wins to Fowler's 2. Before today I think 4/2 with a Players puts Fowler on pretty good footing in comparison. Someone can argue the nitty gritty, but my point is that I think saying that Fowler is only notable for his colorful clothing is going a bit far. The guy is legit and it it wouldn't shock me one bit to see him win a major next year.

I think we've all got to step back and appreciate what Day did today. Speith played in the last group, shot 68 and lost ground. Day set the majors record for under par and granted the course had plenty of birdie opportunities, it had numerous places where disaster was inevitable. Day (and Speith) avoided all of that. Dude was flying it 300 yards on fairways not designed to accept that kind of drive. We've seen guys with runaway wins in majors before, but that's a course designed to mess with your nerves on the last round and Day slayed it.

Huge win, huge day for what seems like a great guy. Going to be fun to watch these two, Rory, DJ, (for 2-3 rounds anyway) and probably Rose battle it out for majors over the next several years. The days of needing Phil or Tiger to be in contention for most of us to be interested are probably over.
