Yes. But more than that. I was trying to underscore that looking back at 2007, it's clearly a legacy award as much as or more than what it claims to be; it's a lot like the Golden Glove in that respect where even players make comments about how great players get it for years of service even if they are not the best fielder at their position that year.
But more importantly, some of the lines in the article are absolutely hysterical in retrospect now that some of the hero-worship luster has worn off. Others have proved to be totally bogus. I actually didn't remember the choice but looked up SI's Sportsman of the year for 2007 on a lark and laughed myself silly.
I think the funny stuff is more important. Heh. Tell me more about his "Best Attribute."
Edit: On reflection, the sub-title doesn't even make any sense, as a "fine season" is not an "attribute."
