I find myself bummed out that the Colts signed Deion Branch just in time for this game. Not expecting anything, but that is part of the problem...any contribution by Deion on (key receptions/first downs/td's) or off the field (prepping the Colt D, etc.) could really hurt us. That would suck.

Hopefully he has zero impact, the Pats win and Deion gets to say hi to friends and former teammates after the game.

Unless Deion can help Indy stop the run and the 3 headed monster than NE will be bringing, he will not matter.

Unless he's going to play special teams he wont be active.  Heyward-Bey is the guy injured and he wasnt getting snaps with the offense.

Toler was put on IR by the Colts today, so he's out. Still no word on Laron Landry's concussion. But 2 men down in the secondary would hurt, especially as Landry's replacement could be old friend Sergio Brown.

Wow, this is like Ghosts of 2006 Week. Has a Doug Gabriel sex tape been released on the internet yet?

I'm in the same boat. I say wear it, and find some time to rewatch highlights from the 2004 playoffs.

That first td pass might be my favorite toss of Brady's career, at least of the ones that come to mind initially. Certainly not the most unbelievable play of his career, but just perfect.

If I'm not mistaken, the Patriots had two long TD plays on the first down following a turnover that day. I've always wondered if they saw something in Pittsburgh with respect to coming out flat after turnovers and exploited it.

They like to do this. Of course, it didn't work as well in the 2012 Super Bowl ...

As I recall, Brady had a 104 temp and was hooked up to IVs heading into this game. Dude did ok.

As much as Brady loves throwing to Branch, if the Colts really want to get the most out of him they should play him at CB.

“@GlobeWhitmer: Patriots practice has been moved inside, and the only player not spotted is WR Aaron Dobson. There is a new WR here, wearing #84.”

Any guesses?

Clearly it's Randy Moss!

(81 wasn't available so he went back to his Vikings number)
Could be eric moulds or Herman Moore!

I'd say Sharpe but he's a TE.

NOW HE'S "A COUPLE OF MINUTES AWAY"!?  DOES HE THINK ROBERT MATHIS IS ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS EVER OR JUST ONE OF THE BEST HE'S EVER PLAYED???  DOES HE THINK THE PATRIOTS NEED TO BE READY TO PLAY THEIR BEST FOOTBALL OF THE SEASON?!?!!? WILL HE WEAR A WINTER HAT?!?

Whatever.  There are only 7 games left in the NFL season, which is terrifying.  I'll take anything I can get.

“@Trags: Brady is clearly fighting something... He is at the podium with a cough drop, and right eye looks very irritated. #Patriots”

Hopefully it's gone by the game.

Bit of a return guy too:

---10 kick returns for 513 yards

---He had two 100-yard kickoff returns against California to set an NCAA single-game record.[2] A week later, he had a 100-yard kickoff return against Washington State.[3] He then had another 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown against Colorado. Dunn set NCAA records for kickoff returns for touchdowns in a season (four), 100-yard kickoff returns for touchdowns in a career (five), and 100-yard kickoff returns for touchdowns in a game (two).[4] He was named to the All-Pac-12 first team

True.  Brady definitely sounds sick.  As someone else mentioned, he was running a 103 degree fever during the 2004 AFCCG in Pittsburgh, and that worked out pretty well.

Not much news (surprise!).  Brady did make a point of saying he'd "be ready by gametime" but that he's still working on film and getting ready for the game.

Just joked that he can't run away from Mathis, and said "It's one thing to sack the QB, it's another to strip sack the QB and the ball's flying out.  We can't let that happen."

So are you still haunted by Rivers masquerading as Jack Nicholson?  Give you a ton of credit for honestly owning up to the worry.

Talib said something along the lines of Dunn running through defenses like TY Hilton.

Maybe just a fast guy brought in to prep the Pats D for deep routes.

Killing them with love --

Deion had a great career here,” Belichick said, via Tom Curran of CSNNE.com. “I think he was here for seven years or north thereof. Very smart, professional player. Great leader. One of the top guys we’ve had here in terms of off the field work ethic, leadership, intelligence, preparation, all those things. He had some very productive seasons here. He’s a tremendous person. He’s had a great career.”

Belichick was also piling on plaudits for Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri.

“I have the utmost respect for Adam and the way he approaches his job, the way he does his job,” Belichick said. “It really seems like every year, you turn on the film and he’s making 50-yard field goals and kicking them right down the middle and doing the same things that he did 17, 18 years ago, however long it’s been since ’96. He’s a great player and a Hall of Fame kicker if there ever was one.”

Pete Morelli's our official for Saturday night, per Football Zebras. Clete Blakeman's crew somehow got the Chargers/Broncos game.

On his Pro Day he ran a 4.25 40, but he never had more than 15 catches in a season. Sounds like Jeff Demps Part II.

He's not necessarily an active roster signee; I wouldn't be surprised if they promoted someone like Ja'Gared Davis and signed Dunn to the PS.
This is in fact what happened - Davis to 53-man, Dunn to PS.

Other recent Patriots games that Morelli has reffed:

- 2013 @HOU (W)
- 2011 vs.NYG (L)
- 2011 @MIA (W)

I don't immediately recall any notable penalties in any of those games.

EDIT: Maybe that's because, at least through the Texans game (in which they called only two penalties), Morelli's crew called the fewest penalties per game in the NFL.

How is it that there are still people in this "industry" that don't understand that there are right answers to some of these questions?

My kind of football game.

Add to the fact that these are the two least penalized teams in football, and it doesn't seem like there should be a whole lot of flags thrown on Saturday. Of course, this isn't Morelli's regular crew, but one of those "all-star" crews, so who knows?

This is not a good week for trolling.  Luck is the last guy on this planet to say anything provocative; he resembles Brady this way.  Pagano is non-nonsense button down, so is BB.  Felger will have blue balls by Friday.
