Pat McAfee is retiring to join...... Barstool?

He and Big Cat have been tight for a while now and he's done a lot with Portnoy and Barstool the past couple years. It fits in with his personality - he does stand up, writes screen plays and has been wanting to get into the entertainment business for a while. And he's had three knee surgeries the past couple years. He tried to retire last year but Pagano talked him out of it. Not a huge surprise I guess if you think about it.

A: Pat McAfee could keep this under wraps
B: announce it on Barstool and scoop every reporter
C: Announce it on barstool.. and not a traditional PC
He will fit right in
McAfee is hilarious. Have loved the spots he's done on Barstool (one bite, rundown, and the casting couch at last years SB). His sense of humor falls right in with Barstool and I think he'll be a natural fit. Excited to see what type of content he'll put out.
I guess it's always possible that he returns but it seems pretty legit to me. The letter seemed pretty heartfelt. The conversation with Irsay, the surgeries, and his prior connection with Barstool all add up. I guess we'll see.
Unlikely that was a random guy. One of the hosts was wearing that on the show on Tuesday night (Portnoy?)
Barstool is giving him his own TV and Radio studio in Indy for him to produce content (and not have to move to NYC). It's legit.
