Well, if nothing else, this is as good a time as any for the injury bug to hit. The next couple weeks are mostly against sub-.500 teams (see Lose's thread), and even if they can't open the gap like we hoped, hopefully the guys who are in will play well enough to maintain stride.

That said, I have liked what I've seen from pretty much everyone who has been called up so far.

We can add Iginla to the list. He's not practicing today. Craig Cunningham is at practice, but the Bruins haven't announced any roster moves yet. Paille is still missing as well. Presumably Iggy's absence is related to the busted finger from the Kesler bout.

Edit; they just officially announced the Cunningham recall. That can't be good.

Lucic - Krejci - Fraser
Marchand - Bergeron - Smith
Soderberg - Spooner - Johnson
Cunningham - Campbell - Caron

Yikes.

Also, we get it Iggy. You're tough. You wanted to show Bruins fans that. Okay. We're all on the same page. Now can you please stop fighting?

I count 7 legit NHL forwards there.  Yeesh.

Not surprisingly for a bassist - your counting past 4 leaves something to be desired:

Campbell, Lucic, Krejci, Marchand, Bergeron, Smith, Soderberg, Spooner, Fraser.

Even Caron and Johnson are debatable.

3 or 4 of them may be 3rd/4th liners on a .500 team. But they're definitely NHL players.

Eh , Spooner and Fraser have a combined ~25 games of NHL experience. We certainly expect them to be given their AHL resume's bit the jury is still out.

FWIW, I've been pretty disappointed in Fraser so far.

Or at least stop grabbing into the visor/helmet gap? He did it again in the 3rd. Probably what led to the extra 2, so he'd have less of a chance to hurt himself again.

Exactly.  I did not count them.

After practice, Julien reveals that Paille is concussed. Eriksson also hasn't been to the rink yet, which obviously isn't good.

Fuck.

Per a source, Jarome Iginla's left hand has been checked out by doctors and he's been cleared to play tomorrow night vs Calgary #BruinsTalk

Apparently the medical staff thinks he got concussed on a hit by Orpik in the Pittsburgh game.

Thanks, asshole!

Nick Johnson was sent back to Providence today. Considering that they aren't carrying a spare forward around, this must mean they plan on getting a forward back after the break. Either Thornton's suspension is getting reduced or Paille/Eriksson are doing better than we all thought.

Isn't there a roster freeze from THE 24th to the 28th?  Can they be sent down?

I believe players can be sent down in order to become cap compliant. So, (e.g.,) if the Bruins needed to clear room to activate Eriksson, the move would be allowed during the freeze.

Not sure where he gets his info from, but Bruins Bear on my facebook said earlier that Paille and Dougie are getting ready to return with Johnson and Warsofsky going down.

Some good news on the injury front- the concussed Swede's both skated today. It would be nice to get Loui back before the West coast trip.
