They better have that 7 second delay thing going.

I love Papi to death, but only the network that would stick HR in the booth would think Papi the Commentator would be a good idea.

On that point, how much prep do you think they give a guest commentator like Papi?  I mean, this is a major sports network.  Do they just give him some general guidelines and say, have at it?  Or do they vet him, run him through some potential topics and give him any pointers?  I mean, they wouldn't just let someone go in cold?

They usually have 4 guys anyhow, so I kind of doubt he'll have all that much air time.  Pedro didn't get a lot either, but no one interrupted him because you could tell they all wanted to hear what he had to say.  Ortiz is going to be boring television because he has a lot of pauses in speech and doesn't spit things out quickly.  And I haven't really heard him say much in the way of analysis about hitting. Though he may say something about how sick Ventura's stuff is.

They're probably best off having him do taped segments conversing with players and showing him being loose.  I'm sure he's buds with quite a few players.

At what point in Game 1's broadcast does he start agitating for an extension through Game 3 or 4 so he's not "playing" Game 2 under a cloud of uncertainty for his future?
