I figured it would come down to that last trip down the court by SFA. Seems like the plan was always to put the ball in Walkups hands but that was crazy given there was time on the clock and they could have gotten a quick shot followed by the last shot.

Sucks for canderson

Committee proving one thing this year. They didn't see a bunch of high seeded teams play. Crazy that SFA plays like that as a 14.

Yup. Often the difference between team who's been there before and the fresh face. March Madness does it to you.

Better to be the lower seed who came up just short than the higher seed that got upset. Been on both ends and the feeling is much worse for the latter than the former.

Keep your chin up. What SFA did this year will help the school out tremendously in the future

Well, better to be the lower seed and win, no?

Oh joy, another apparent blowout. Well, at least it's only a little less than an hour until the next game.

Draft Express had Hield going ninth overall, which seems like a total steal.

VCU playing like absolute idiots - gave up like 5 possessions maybe 4-6 points

Boeheim whines about everything so you can miss it when he makes a good point, but I've always agreed with him that the entire tournament should be bracketed to be played on neutral courts (except the final four obviously).

Why can't he be a superstar?
A 6-8 guy who can shoot like Hield and play adequate D should have a fine career in the pros, but he simply doesn't have the quickness and raw athleticism of, say, Kevin Durant.

Put another way: Derrick Rose was the NBA's MVP and LeBron was playing in the Finals when they were Hield's age. Hield is a fine player, but he's on a different plane talent-wise than those guys.

Good run by Maryland and the video signal from the truck at the NIU/TAM died so its the studio crew talking and filling time.

Would be pretty funny if Northern Iowa took out Texas, Texas A&M, and OU in succession.

Looks as though an 11 will be the highest (lowest?) seed in the Sweet 16

Hield is going to have trouble getting into the paint and finishing against quicker and longer defenders. He isn't a blow by guy at the college level and reminds me of Marcus Smart is using his physical maturity against smaller and weaker college players to finish in the paint. At the next level I can see him being a 3 and D guy or maxing out to someone like a Hersey Hawkins for those who remember him. I like him to be an NBA player but not a high lottery guy who is going to make a major impact.
