Smooth win. Now face a 12 or 13 seed in sweet sixteen. Doesn’t set up much better than that.
would have been a bigger margin of victory if they weren't forcing it late to get guys shot back on track. No doubt he'll be shooting daggers Thursday. He looked like death out there tonight. Great game for Mamadi

Houston up 72 to 59. O/U is 132. Ohio State misses a 3 with 21 seconds to go and fouls instead of letting Houston run the clock out. 2 made free throws and Houston wins 74 to 59.

Did Schofield foul out? Why wasn't he in the court?
Barnes touched on this in his post-game presser. Said that it was Schofield who told him that Alexander was playing great and to keep him in there because he couldn't defend the way he'd need to with 4 fouls. Barnes also (correctly imo) added that the players have a better feel than the coaches in their feel for certain situations such as this.

Zion scored 32 points, or 42% of his team's total. He didn't look that small.
I meant size-wise when going up against Fall in that he seemed to throw himself into him a lot to try and create contact (which I thought there was a lot both ways), but sort of seemed to bounce off of him. I know there aren't a lot of players Fall's size, but in the NBA Zion will be facing a lot bigger and stiffer competition at the 4 and 5... so he's not going to be able to go through players as much going to the hoop. It's just what I saw, but he seemed to sort of flop and bounce off a lot today.. even with 32 points.

I don’t think Dawkins boxed out hard but he did put himself between the hoop and Barrett, and with two hands Barrett pushed him a good four to five feet under the other side of the basket. Either it was a harder shove than you think or Dawkins completely gave up for some unknown reason. Or he’s a total wuss. I think the last two options are least likely.
It's also easier to put someone off balance if they're moving/jumping to get a rebound if you put your hand on their hip. It looked like a push to me, but just on this level of a no-call, but it did seem to completely change his ability to go up.

It clearly rotated back towards the board after skimming off the rim.
Yeah..the ball changed direction in the area of the rim (which means it had to have hit it).. one angle from the side clearly showed it.

all the 1 2 3s survived the weekend. two 4s, a 5, and a 12/13. yawner.
Personally, I don't find that to be a yawner. I like when the low seeds have big upsets early on, but when it's time to really decide the championship, I want the big boys playing. I want to see the very best. Unless (!!!) I could somehow be ensured that one of the low-ranked teams would win it all, like NC State in 1983 or Nova in 1985, something like that. But quite often, when a low seed makes it to the Final Four, they get blown out. So I'm fine with the heavyweights going at it from this point forward.

5 years ago a 7 seed beat an 8 seed in the finals.

That's true, but Kentucky was the best 8 seed in the history of the the tournament. I don't mind the chalks winning as much as I like the games to have drama. These past four days have been very limited on the drama front, and only a couple of buzzer beaters were even attempted. None came close to going in.

But there were a few great games. LSU on Saturday and Duke and the OT game yesterday provided excellent drama.

Tacko only had 3 rebounds over the last 36 minutes. How is that possible?
UCF has a well balanced rebounding frontcourt with 3 others avg over 5 per game......even Allen is over 3. I'd place a lot of this on todays game with some many mid-range to long rebounds off missed 3's since Fall is usually only occupying space deep in the paint. Fall did also only play 21 of those last 36 minutes.
