Duke’s got to play straight man here right? High post crushing them when in zone.

Really difficult follow. Can’t fault Dawkins. Man, that missed dunk....

Johnny D now the frontrunner for K’s job? That was a hell of an effort.

This is when I hate sports - i’m upset and completely deflated over a game that I chalked up as a Duke win, and barely cared about 30 minutes ago.
(Conversley - I do realize that if that shot went in, I’d be saying this is why so I love sports)

Zion could foul out Fall in 5 drives but they won’t call it
Zion threw himself into him all game.. it eventually worked. I think we saw a precursor to his nba career.. Zion looked small today, but duke made enough plays to win.

Is Chris Collins no longer the heir apparent for his magical turnaround of Northwestern?

So if Liberty wins then 95 percent of the evil in the universe will all be concentrated in one place this Friday.

Damn tough loss for UCF. I really enjoyed the last few days of Tacko Fall’s celebrity, was hoping it would go on for a few more days.

Mild criticism of CBS: we never saw a reply of the missed lob. What the fuck? That was the pivotal play of the game.

Zion scored 32 points, or 42% of his team's total. He didn't look that small.

He got pushed under the basket with two hands. Should have been a foul. I understand not calling it there but he did get pushed.

I can’t believe that tip didn’t go in.
I thought that initially too but watching the replay I didn't really see an egregious push.

Zion with the charge... Franschilla with a keen observation that that's a classic regular season NCCAM
Also didn't box out on the Barrett offensive rebound.
I'm going to use your post as a jumping off point for a rant... Has Barrett ever boxed anyone out? Seriously. He is strong Wiggins. Never does anything off the ball. It's like the idea of these non-Zion Dukies is better than the reality and peeps can't figure that out. Barrett is a waste at the next level.

How that didnt drop for ucf is beyond me.

Duke got bailed out by several non calls on that last Zion play / rebound
To be fair, had the refs not somehow swallowed their whistle on what would have been Tacko's 4th on Zion with 12 min to go he wouldn't even have been in the game and there likely wouldn't have been any end of game chance to win. That one blown call was like 4x more crucial to this game than any other individual missed call.

I don’t think Dawkins boxed out hard but he did put himself between the hoop and Barrett, and with two hands Barrett pushed him a good four to five feet under the other side of the basket. Either it was a harder shove than you think or Dawkins completely gave up for some unknown reason. Or he’s a total wuss. I think the last two options are least likely.

Was Duke lucky when they didn’t get the break on Tacko’s blatant 4th foul or the shot clock violation that led to an immediate bucket? Both teams got unlucky, both teams got lucky.

Well it clearly hit the rim. And then Tacko’s 5th wasnt a foul. So, no? The zion drive / pushoff / tacko bad call / no call on the rebound / 2 ucf shots rimming out was a very lucky sequence. And shit im rooting for duke and recognize this.

Ball 1000% did not touch the rim. Rotation or direction of the ball never changed.

It is like saying the Pats were lucky in the AFCCG when KC got just as many calls - the PIs, the holding on the fumble, the no call on the pick, the fact that the Pats threw a pick anyway after the Edelman punt play, etc. (side note, so many similarities to that punt play and the shot clock play today - I though the combination of angles showed it clearly didn’t touch, just like the punt play)

Seriously the lowest possible seed total in the Sweet 16 is 40 - if Houston wins, we are going to be at 49 or 50 this year. Crazy.
