Thank you for starting.

I was in shock that they didn't give Duke prime-time but then remembered game is in Pittsburgh, and not in their usual West region.

FYI, only 1 t in Wichita

Do the play-in-round (technically 1st round) comments go here or shall a new thread be made?

UVA loses De’Andre Hunter to broken wrist. Big blow.

If UCLA wins this they have the zebras to thank — several critical calls in the last 10 minutes have all gone agains the Bonnies.
So happy to see UCLA go down. I had them out and had St. Mary's in as an 8-seed in my bracket yet they were an E$$regious snub for reasons we all know. Good to see the Gaels respond with a 89-45 win in their NIT opener.

How many stiff arms did Holiday get away with before they finally called one on him? And he was, of course, OUTRAGED when they did.

They let the boys play for the most part, which I like, but the guy who was the star for the Bonnies last night picked up his 4th on a touch foul, and one of those stiff-arms was actually called a block on the defense. UCLA also got at least two extra possessions on rebounds that the Bonnies couldn’t control because UCLA was blatantly going over the back. They happily called the last minute of the game straight, but before that, it was almost as though the officials were watching the FT disparity and getting nervous about being criticized after the game, when anyone who watched would understand that the FT disparity was the result of the Bonnies attacking the basket while the Bruins were chucking up 3s against a zone defense.

Yeah, he's averaged over 12 points a game in the last few months and can switch on defense--I'm not sure who they have to replicate that.

This and his 9.2 PPG on the season doesn't sound like much but UVA barely scores. All about context. (I realize you know this, pointing it out for others).

Edit: for clarity, this is due to tempo. They are 21st in the country in adjusted offense. But 351st in tempo. 351 is dead last in the entire NCAA D1.

Tonight's matchup hurts. The Syracuse spot should have been given to Louisville or Notre Dame. The Arizona State spot should have been given to MTSU or St. Mary's. The UCLA spot yesterday to USC and the Oklahoma spot to Oklahoma State.

I had St Mary's as a 8 in my bracket and MTSU as a 9. They won their first round NIT games by a combined 70 points last night!

I would say I have no idea what UCLA, Syracuse, and Oklahoma are doing in this tournament while much better teams are playing in the NIT.......but sadly I do have a very good idea. And it $ucks!

Weird that any school involved in the FBI sting and also on the bubble for the tournament...ended up outside looking in.

So Young scores 10 points in first 10 minutes, then nothing for 20 minutes, now has 12 in last 9 minutes?
