Never heard roughing the center before.
Very rarely called. Probably don't see it called 20 times a season across NCAA football.

Funny thing is this is the second time Michigan has benefited from it in close games this year, as Wisconsin also was called for roughing the center on the first possession of the second half against Michigan, it didn't end up impacting that game though

Damn, as a massive college football fan with no rooting interest (I went to PC, so no football team) except for when I bet, I would love to see Michigan, Washington and Clemson all lose this week. I love rankings lunacy.

Auburn and Texas A&M too. Craziness not just in the top 4 but in the whole top 10

Ohio State no longer controls their Big Ten destiny but I have to think they're still in the playoff if they win out, even if Penn State wins the conference and has the head-to-head tiebreaker.

If osu beats state of Michigan, they'll be the #2 team easy I would think

I agree

If Penn State wins out and Ohio State beats Michigan, PSU plays in the Big Ten title game.

I'm a mich alum married to a penn state grad whose whole family went there. I basically want to murder that official who called the bullshit facemask

Does "roughing the center" fit on a Michigan jersey, or would it need to be abbreviated?

What are USC's chances going forward? Can they win the conference? The Freshman QB, Darnold, lost his first start on the road against Utah, but since then, they've won 6 in a row, including todays dismantling at Washington, and a very good win against Colorado, etc. IMO, they may be one of the most dangerous teams in the country right now, because in addition to Darnold, they have now found their running game too. I think they are potentially a pre-season top 5 pick next year.

USC needs to win out and for Colorado and Utah to lose again. Colorado and Utah play each other in two weeks, so that's one loss, but the winner of that game needs to lose beforehand.

After seeing Darnold in that Utah game, I was kinda mystified by him not starting before then. Probably because the coach didn't want the other QB to transfer, but that may have been the difference in the Stanford game.

Mich played like shit and deserved the L but the facemask call was terrible. The roughing the center call is rare but it was a legit penalty.

If you aren't a fan of a blueblood, this is what makes college football go. There's a million games a week, and the upsets can be so big, as big as in any sport.

Typical. um never loses. The refs screw them, the field was crowned, blah, blah freaking blah. The roughing the center penalty was a complete farce. Glad you clowns "got screwed" in the end.

What about SALTY as the name and 15 for the number?

Oh please. Show me a college football fan base that doesn't get pissed off about perceived slights by the zebras.

College football DOES have lousy officiating. Besides, I already said mich deserved the L. They played awful.

I think reasonable people can disagree on the face mask call, but it wasn't not as impactful as i think some perceive. The Iowa offense was gashing the Michigan d on that last drive, they still had a time out, the final kick was a chip shot and Iowa basically ran 40 seconds off the clock before the kick. It would have been a slightly longer kick, but not 15 yards longer IMO.

This is true - they may have just gotten the 15 anyway...but it's not as if the rest of the game was well zebra'd. The running into the kicker calls were BS and, in retrospect, pretty big calls.

Again, Michigan was awful. Deserved to lose...but It doesn't mean Big Ten officiating isn't piss poor bc it is.
