Recap of fire alarm incident:

Patriots most likely had nothing to do with it
Wouldn't put it past the Patriots
They are known for cheating
No other team has an Ernie Adams
Patriots don't even tell you what his role is
Closest think to a black ops

Mike is hyping Peyton's post season record. Beat Brady 3 out of 5 times in the AFCCG and two SB wins are pretty good. Not a Chamberlain/Russell comparison anymore.

Leaving in a bit to the studio :)
Red herring that lets him avoid having the debate. Why does it need to be a Chamberlain/Russell comparison at all?
Because it fits his narrative and involves two GOATs (inc one from Boston) from another sport who won championships.

He realizes he's onto something: I heard him use the "it's not a Wilt/Bill comparison" several different days this week.

And I'm guessing when it comes up, Peyton's losses are on the defense but Brady's aren't?

The injury-ravaged Pats had no business even reaching the AFC Championship Game back in the 2013 playoffs, yet that loss is going to be used against Brady? Haters gonna hate.

Remember when FF said, in 2012, that finally the Patriots would go away, that their run was officially dead and over.

Yeah. Good call.

Mike conveniently ignores the fact that Brady handed leads to his defense in both Super Bowl losses and they blew both. I'm sure he will have excuses for the Steelers today and try to minimize the Pats making another Super Bowl. The fact that he holds Super Bowl losses against Brady and Belichick just shows the lengths he will go to in pursuit of furthering his stupid narrative. The Ernie Adams stuff is just demented. A caller pointed out the fact that Adams appeared on camera in the Do Your Job special and he told her that it wasn't true. No wonder he supported Trump. They both like alternative facts.

Listening to the Fan this morning waiting for Francesa. The callers (and the hosts--Benigno and someone else) just seem resigned and defeated, like the only thing they have left to ponder is how long they'll have to wait until Belichick and Brady retire.

Pure Schadenfreude listening

Joe Benigno is a die hard Jets fan. He is also friends with Belichick and has him on the show occasionally. He's a moron but his sad sack routine can be entertaining.

Evan Roberts is a total clown. Jets, Mets and Nets fan. The real schaudenfreude there (for me anyways) is thinking back to the way he was thumping his chest after the Nets acquired Pierce and Garnett. "Those picks will be worthless!" I tune in just to hear them talk NBA.

Tuned in to listen to their take...Boomer and Carton paid full tribute to the Pats and Carton is a die hard Jets fan and HATES the pats. They also make fun of Francesa which drives him crazy, of course he says it doesnt but after 15 years of listening to Mike, you can always tell when he is lying. Then Beningo and Roberts paid full tribute also to the Pats. Fatty is the last holdout. He looks fatuous, if you allow that comment, and kind of sad at this point. But hey he is retiring in 12 months, it is his show, so he is going to go down on his own ship, paddling one oar, as his boat circles the drain.

At leat 1 ... he is totally reasonable out of box. E.G., Pats have better defense, you would expect them to be favored by 3.

He's mad at Pittsburgh for not knowing what was about to happen, stayed in zone too much, didn't learn from past meetings, couldn't stop them. Pats with a lead at home never drop games.

You can pass on the Steelers whenever you want, Brady was shooting fish in a barrel, guys were wide open everywhere and very little pressure.

Pitts D improved? I was never a believer all year long.

Brady -- "It was like shooting fish in a barrel. It was a joke."

"How many times we have to see the same movie ...?"

Steelers wanted no part of this. Played secondary coverages like they were scared.

If Atl cannot put a pass rush on TB, they will not beat him.

Pats have a better defense, and that will make a difference in the game, unfortunately.

It broke through a little at the end with the "I'll be rooting for the Falcons" and using the word "unfortunately" when saying that the Pats have the better defense to go with the offense. He hates Belichick and Kraft so much that he just can't hold it in.

Leaving in a bit to the studio :)
No Super Bowl trivia contest this year...couldn't find a sponsor
Coulda sworn I heard him tell a caller last week that they'd be cutting way back on it, but nothing about cancelling it completely.

(Did they give out multiple trips in past years? I thought he said they were cutting it down from three (or five) trips, down to one trip this year. )

At least he owns it. I'll take that -- and his sensible take on the games -- over the passive-aggressive lunatic takes of F&M, who offer nothing valuable in analyzing the game.

Very fair. I rarely if ever hear the Boston shows, but my impression of them matches what you said.

The fat man is reaching way down in the bowels of his brain to come up with that one.

Knocking Brady down has always been the best prescription for the opposition.

And the Ernie Adams hate is silly. He's part of the braintrust...a consultant, advisor, whatever. Shoot - he could be putting ice in the urinals --- what would the fat man care?!!!

Hahahaha!! I knew he couldnt keep it up, Mike is starting to piss on the Pats, by downplaying and nit picking every little thing!! Ahha! If Seattle had made the right call they would be three and three in Superbowls! The man is deeply conflicted it is quite deeelicious.

Now he's being insufferable. Losing Super Bowls is worse than not getting there. Making 7 Super Bowls isn't that big of a deal. Belichick winning a fifth and becoming the first coach to do so, "if that matters to you", isn't that big of a deal. The hate is palpable.

Caller from Mass asks Mike if what the Pats are doing now is historic. Mike pushes back but admits the longevity of Brady and Belichick is the real legacy that won't be matched. Mike keeps insisting that going and not losing in the SB is more impressive than going more often and losing.

Edit: He can't help himself. On the Rams SB win, "if you sit with Marshall Faulk you'll get an earful about that game." Can't stop giving them a cheap shot after he praises them. Everything comes with an asterisk.

It's a really stupid point, but he's been consistently stupid on this one. "Montaner nevah lawst da big game. Brady did." He's been saying this bullshit for years.

Yeah, if only Brady had lost to the Chargers in '07 or the Ravens in '11 Brady might be considered the all time greatest.

Caller now bringing up that he'd rather go to more SB games than not. Mike countering with Marv Levy. "We penalize people harshly for making it and losing." You're better off losing a tight Championship Game then going to a SB and getting blown out. "This society kills guys for getting to the SB and losing."

And this is a challenge when you're hosting a 5.5 hour show. Eventually, they'll get to you, and he cannot help himself.
