Cheese fries or no, if the GM of the team I rooted for traded Jayson Tatum and a top-5 pick in the following year's draft for Markelle Fultz, I'd be petrified. If he can't find his game, that's a franchise-altering mistake.

Hey! Poutine recipes are supposed to be trade secrets.

He has already been pinioned by his collar.

The FRIES suck, they are just a bad delivery device for the animal style topping.

And yeah even top chef's know frozen (and ideally double fried) >>>>> fresh for fries. Apparently. My buddy is a chef and he says it every time we ever go.

Wait what is this thread about?

Frozen I haven't heard before, but I could imagine that having the inside cold could help you fry the outside nice and crispy without overcooking the middles. I've heard a few tricks on how to get that crispy outside and flaky inside and it usually involved par cooking them first by boiling or frying to cook them most of the way through, and then cooling them and later frying them again to get the crispy crust. A second way was to start them in cold oil and heat up the fries and oil together so they can cook through before the fat gets hot enough to fry the outside. No matter which way you do it, you want to season them right out of the hot oil, it sticks and penetrates better.

We don't know now what we will know down the line so we will see how it all plays out. That being said, your post made me muse over the last day or so about how a GM can make all these trades, hirings, signings and draft picks, but a single bad move can cancel out twenty decent ones. I ended up thinking specifically of Slick Leonard and how all he had to do was draft Bird, but he didn't. That in turn led me to the linked below article, which just reinforces how short-sighted or fearful so many GMs can be. I remember after the 1978 draft Auerbach said to someone something like "Do you know how short a period of time one year is?"

Just to clarify, he ain't talking about, like, Ore-Ida fries. He means: 1) fry them once; 2) drain, then freeze; 3) fry them again. The freezing part is optional. The frying twice part is not. Frying twice (first at lower temps, then at higher temps) expels more moisture from the fries than frying them once. You get a fry with a better texture, basically.

If you want to know the science behind it, read this: Why Double Fry French Fries?

    Great article. thanks

The Knicks also covet Robey, sources said, and may take Bird if the Kentucky star is not available. Golden State, picking fifth, is looking for a strong rebounder, Coach Al Attles said. Boston Coach Tom Sanders said the Celtics are seeking a center and a quick guard.

But sources throughout the league, including Portland's Inman, are convinced that Boston President Red Auerback would pounce on Bird if he still were available as the No. 6 pick overall. Auerback has been his usual silent self on draft matters.

They misspelled Red's last name and the rest of the league paid the price. "Center and quick guard", ha ha, classic misinformation pre-draft.

Well, they did draft Freeman Williams 8th (and then packaged him for Tiny and the pick that became Ainge). So, there's your "quick guard"

I'm not linking this article specifically re: Fultz, but more because it relates to the overall topic of the "yips," and in particular FT shooting.

The megadeal that Williams and Archibald were a part of was the franchise trade between then Boston owner Irv Levin and Buffalo Braves owner John Y Brown.

Fultz has completely changed his body and in this video posted a couple of weeks ago looks to have an improved jumper. Will certainly make a difference if true.

This is a pretty poor post. I suffered through that (awful) entire video just to see three jump shots that are probably from last year; they’re certainlynot recent, as you can see he doesn’t have the full sleeve of tattoos on his left arm.

Sorry about that. I just skimmed through the video (skipped the parts without him having a basketball in his hand and the prior clips that we've seen before) to see the current part and the jump shots.

Video was posted August 28. Didn't say when it was taken.

Jumper form looks natural and certainly it's better than what he used to have. Yes, it's based on three shots but thought people would be interested.

Thanks for posting actually. There is a group of internet shot doctors that love nothing better than breaking down Markelle Fultz shot videos. They prefer grainy cell phone vids, but it’s been quite a while since anything has surfaced so this will have to do.

Like I said, that video is old, and may even be last year.

In any event, no biggie. But for future reference, you can link to a specific part of a youtube video. Just pause it, right click, and then copy video at URL at current time.

So basically the only thing "new" in that video is the still shot of a follow through? Awesome.

And while researchers aren't comfortable firmly linking the two yet, they strongly suspect that cheese fries are one of the leading causes of the yips.

In the other thread, Heywerd is talking about his passion for donuts, so we can probably forget about those championship aspirations we had for this year.

Worse still I have it on good authority that it wasn’t just a Krispy Kreme, it was one of those Krispy Kreme bacon double cheeseburgers with a side order of chili cheese fries. We’ll be lucky to make the playoffs.

Great thread over on LibertyBallers right now on Markelle. They are hearing the shot may still have a long way to go. More of the fans seem to be coming to the realization that Danny may have done it again.

I get that this is primarily a Boston Celtics area but the idea that Danny knew Fultz would get the yips is borderline crazy.

There’s a lot we don’t know about this situation. It’s possible Danny heard or saw something in Markus’ workout which made him nervous. Did he notice a change in his form? Did Fultz foolishly admit he was reworking his shot? Did he somehow expose his personal issues during his interview? Who knows?

It’s also possible Danny just liked Tatum more - at least enough to justify trading down and for another’s pick.

Anyone who says Danny definitely foresaw a first year bust is kidding themselves, but the possibility that Danny knew something which ended up being a contributing factor in the trade c annot be entirely discounted.

Ainge didn't have to know precisely what Fultz would become to not have him rated as others did. What we do know is that he never considered him to be THE guy at #1 in any of his post-lottery pressers which was confirmed by Fultz leaving his Celtics workout and immediately scheduling others.

Ainge wins this move in a huge way regardless of whether Fultz ultimately fixes him problem (highly unlikely imo) or never plays another minute in the league. He knew "something" was up with the kid......it could have been the bizarre knee injury in college, his bulking up leading into the draft workouts, his interview, etc. Maybe it was more.....facts are facts, Ainge didn't have the kid on a pedestal like many others did for whatever his reason. For that reason he gets all the credit.
