Snell's disastrous offseason has morphed into an even more disastrous regular season, where he has sucked and is now injured. If he needs time to get right again, he will be looking at hitting the market following a very mediocre, easily replaceable type of season. Henry might still be a giant cheapskate, I dunno, but at least his team is somewhere between super lucky and actually good at not stepping on veteran SP landmines.

He has a player option for next year, so don’t feel too badly for him.

Seattle has turned things around after a bad start.

The AL East is not looking as strong as most thought it would be, and Houston is a dumpster fire. That might open up the Wild Card races a little more, but it’s still early.

Sale with his 3rd straight start with 7 innings. Velocity is still good, averaging almost 95mph. He’s still very good when healthy.

Late April and May of 2023, Chris Sale was also throwing 90-110 pitches, but was only going into the 5th and 6th. Sale famously defers to whatever the catcher calls.

So I think that's your answer. Bush/Varitek sucked.
