In the image capture app you can specify the default behavior when a camera card is detectedOrange Julia said:That worked, thanks. I "selected all" from within photos and then I exported them twice, once to my desktop and once to a new folder. Now I just need to make sure that when I insert the camera card that it doesn't automatically suck the pics up into Photos. I wonder if there's a way to disable it completely?
If you hold the Cmd key down can you select multiple photos?Orange Julia said:Well, I have it set now NOT to open photos when I put in this particular card, but I couldn't get it to open image capture. But, then i just exported all the photos to the file where I wanted. So I feel like I'm halfway to getting this.
ETA I am still only able to select one photo at a time for Facebook and gmail. I have to think that I'm just doing it wrong.

I'm not sure where it is on the Mac app but there's a selective sync option in the Windows app in preferences where you can tell it which files to sync. Maybe that got turned on in the background somehow?Orange Julia said:Ok so I have reached that place where I am now happier on the small macbook pro over the larger, heavier, slower laptop. I am having one problem and that is that not all my dropbox files are syncing with the mac. For example, folders within folders are missing, and large groups of files are also awol, although they are on my desktop machine and on my on-line dropbox so they aren't full on missing, they just aren't populating my folders on my mac. Any ideas? I have updated the dropbox app on the machine but I can't seem to "force" a sync for those folders. I only realized it wasn't working when I shared a folder with a friend and THEN it downloaded to my mac. Do I have to faux share all the folders?I mean, I can do that but I have to think there's a better way?
I use dropbox for business by the way because I already pay for 2TB of storage, so using the puny cloud that comes with the apple products isn't really an option I want to pursue...
Thanks!
