KC Chiefs Running Back Kareem Hunt Brutalizes and Kicks Woman in Hotel Video via @TMZ http://www.tmz.com/2018/11/30/kc-chiefs-kareem-hunt-attacked-kicked-woman-surveillance-video …

As friends try to hold him back, the 2017 Pro Bowler -- who led the league in rushing yards -- explodes and knocks one of his friends into the woman ... who both go flying into a wall.

Both Kareem's male friend and the woman appear dazed -- but Kareem makes his way over to the female and kicks her while she's crouching on the ground ... knocking her over.

Police were called to the scene but no arrests were made. According to police reports, obtained by TMZ Sports, surveillance video from the hotel was obtained by law enforcement. We're told that video is part of the evidence that was submitted to prosecutors.

As Kate from Barstool Sports said - it appears the NFL might have a camera problem.

Nice backfield, Andy. Jesus Christ.

Given there’s video, I suspect he’s done for the season, at least.

The Chiefs won't suspend him - but in the wake of Rice, and Elliott, I have to imagine Hunt sits for at least 2-4 as well per the Commish.

Depending on how big this story gets, he could be done for the season.
We'll see. Dollars to donuts he is on the field in January

Hopefully he's done for December and January (and February).

t4w, what are you favorite kind of donuts? If Pats win SB and go through KC (home or away), I owe you donuts.

If the Chiefs were smart they'd suspend for next 4 games as a pre-emptive strike.

There’s video, which means people will actually care.

Edit - Just saw the video. It’s bad, but I doubt it elicits the same outrage as Rice. He’ll survive.

The retaliation for saying no is the trump card here I think. This is worse than Rice.

It would be peak NFL for them to repeat the same mistakes they made with Rice and others.

I hope they learned their lesson with how they handled past instances and the PR blowback that came with it.

Jovan Belcher. Tyreek Hill. Kareem Hunt. That is not a good look the last 5 years for what has been a pretty well reputed organization historically. I would think if the video comes out, he is done for the year, but who knows anything at this point.

Is it wrong that my first move on hearing this was to text my son telling him to pick up Spencer Ware?

Something to consider as you watch the video - what if Kareem Hunts friends had not been there? This could have been a lot worse had cooler heads not surrounded him and tried to help him NOT do what he did.

No way, Rice punches her in the face and knocks her out. This is bad, but nowhere near that.
Did the Rice thing have a sexual angle, I don't recall that it did. The violence itself was worse there, but the story here, this is retaliation for saying no to his entourage it looks like, is worse.

And this victim has more reason to cooperate, including in the media, than the Rice fiancee.

Looking at the video you could imagine that a fair amount of what's going on is somewhat ambiguous, and even the hard shove I guess you could at least theoretically try to defend if you were going to claim some kind of defense or heat of passion. But the kick is totally gratuitous and indefensible. He literally walks over to her and kicks her while she's down.

Agree they should suspend him 2-4 games, take it out of the league's hands so he can play in January. And my favorite donuts are located in Durham, NC. Ha.

Exactly. It's not the same level of bad. But good point made by TheShynessClinic - what if friends weren't there?

The Rice thing was so brutal that it has kind of set the standard and now we can see a woman getting kicked while she's basically defenseless on the ground and try to equate them. I think the Rice thing has a tendency to desensitize.

I find the kick in this video shocking. Like really shocking. Who the fuck does that? Kicking already is such a dirty thing to do, but this isn't even a toe to toe fight where he made a dirty kick move. He kicked a person on the ground. He totally had a chance to walk away. She got her bell rung and was apparently disoriented and crouched down to make herself small in a tense situation and he kicked her.

I am disgusted by the video and I am not sure there are "levels of bad" when it comes to violence against women. ANY violence is unacceptable, not to mention from an NFL athlete whose built like a truck. My heart sunk when she was crumpled on the ground, crying. Hunt's reaction was to kick her. Disgusting. And agree she was very fortunate others were around to restrain.

I think she was bending down to pick something up off the floor that she had dropped when he shoved her.

Did I also see one of the entourage grab one of the ladies' phone while she was attempting to record the incident?
You sure did. The NFL is going to go after a precious Hunt family player. I bet they slow play it and give him some suspension in the offseason for some portion of the 2019 season.

They've been slow playing it for 9 months. Now it becomes harder.

I do not disagree with any of this.

I also have zero faith the NFL will get this remotely correct.

The whole thing is disgusting, but I agree the kick at the end makes it levels of worse. What a piece of shit.

Agree that the NFL will fuck this up in every imaginable way.

I know judging the degree of an assault isn't wise, but I don't care. The actual assault isn't anywhere near as bad as the Ray Rice situation, but how the hell does the league not learn from this? Goodell should have been forced to resign after Ray Rice and now this cover up further cements him as a F***ing joke.

Somehow Bill Simmons will get suspended from his own podcast as a result of all this.

They’ve been covering it up last 9 months. Haven’t even been slow playing it. Clearly gets harder now but all they have to do is say “we’re still gathering all the facts” yada yada yada and then the playoffs will start and nobody will be focused on it anymore.

Maybe I’m too cynical but we’ll see.

How the fuck is Goodell still employed. I get that the owners were happy about DFG. But they cannot be happy about this if the league knew about the videos. They learned nothing - zero - from the Ray Rice incident.

I honestly hadn't thought about Goodell for like at least a year, but now I am pissed about him all over again. Fuck that guy.

This was my take until the video went to the other view and you see the kick. At first it’s like ‘ok, it’s still not acceptable, but she was kind of collateral damage, he pushed a guy and she got cleared out so maybe...oh no, nevermind, he just walked back over and kicked her. Ummmm...so, yeah. There’s that...’ Fuck him and whatever bullshit penalty he gets.

Good point about covering it up. Did they actual think this video wouldn't come out eventually? I'm just surprised it took as long as it did.

Unfortunately, I think you are probably correct. But who knows with Goodell and the NFL.

The league absolutely covered this up. Just like they've whitewashed Tyreke Hill's horrific past. My only hope is that this incident starts people talking about Hill's past as well and how the organization seems to support such actions. Doing the right thing isn't something the NFL is very good at. Saving face, on the other hand, will drive action. With the Reuben Foster waiver claim this week, the league is going to have to do something.

Ezekiel Elliott got 6 games — after the lead NFL investigator recommended no suspension. I have not had a chance to compare this video to the underlying facts in that case.

But I guarantee you that Jerry Jones will lose his fucking mind if Hunt skates on “Chiefs rules” that approximate “Giants rules.”

How would Hunt only get 4 games?

Zeke got 6 and there was no video evidence and their own lead investigator recommended no suspension. Hunt should basically get a full season if they are trying to be consistent.

Imagine if Ray Rice was Hunt's age when his incident occured. Do you think Rice would have been still employed had he been 24 years old? Someone would have signed Rice.

I am told the Chiefs sent Kareem Hunt home from the facility today upon learning of the release of the video and pending further action. Most likely short-term resolution is that Hunt would be placed on the commissioner's exempt list pending a final decision, but we will see.

They may have already botched it, I guess.

Roger has seemingly learned that so long as he stays reactive and sees which way the wind is blowing he can usually navigate these issues. So, they'll probably spend a day or two with their fingers in the wind figuring out what's what and then they'll act and spend 6 months defending the act no matter how irrational or unjust.
