Oh I was just being smart about trading a past his prime Weber for a younger, better, better-contract player was all and doing something similar for Boston. Wasn't anything against your trade proposal or anything.
Oh ok my bad. I thought you were saying I wasn't offering anything with trade value.

From CBC.ca:

"Subban had been rumoured to be on the trading block because he has a no-movement clause that kicks in Friday. He is entering the third year of an eight-year, $72-million US deal. Weber has 10 years remaining on a deal worth $81 million US."

Ten years of Weber at $8m a year instead of six years of Subban at $9m a year? I don't get this at all.

One of the things that I can't wrap my head around is how Edmonton and Montreal didn't match up on Hall for Subban.

Bergevin says he wasn't shopping Subban. Which is fine, whatever. But when someone calls and offers you Weber don't you need to then at least take an hour or two to look around and see who else might be available before you agree? Like, he knows he can tell Nashville he'll call them back?
