Intel will soon be shipping both Windows and Linux versions of a different approach to computing portability:

Would you consider this?  I can see it as a backup and easier than lugging around a laptop if you're not the sort of road warrior who needs to impress everyone that you can't stop working on that plane or train....

There are times when a pc is necessary (Mac won't do). For those times, something as cheap as this might be a great option.

I don't see how this would work as a viable travel alternative to a laptop, since you would still need to carry a keyboard, monitor and mouse.  I'd rather just carry a laptop (or a tablet if it can meet my computing needs).

I don't see this as much of a PC replacement as I do as a HTPC (for people who absolutely must use Windows), a nice kiosk PC, etc.

Like this is absolutely perfect for a video conference PC or something in a Windows environment.

Right, like IE testing (the bane of every software engineer's existence).  We have an ultra-cheap windows PC in the office for IE testing, and this little stick would take up less space.  So that's cool.

Yeah, this thing wouldn't replace a tablet let alone a good laptop for a travel machine but could be a fantastic kiosk or media player.

Setting aside that if IE testing is a "bane" you are doing it wrong because it's 2015 and IE is compliant-enough...this is what virtual machines are for.
