I don't quite understand the Schiano hate, and I would like to have seen an outside voice, especially one familiar with college offense.

But the Pats have won 5 Super Bowls without Schiano, and if McDaniels' returning was the reason that Schiano declined the position, I'll take that trade under the guise of "In Kraft We Trust".

There's plenty of film on RPO's and Andy Reid offense, as well as film showing how teams have slowed down the RPO at both the college and NFL level. I have to believe the Pats coaching staff can figure it out. The harder problem is getting the personnel. And, fwiw, the Pats D struggled against other offenses this year; talent still matters, a lot.

Andy Brickley's potty mouth
I think Schiano would have been a great addition, he's done a great job with the huge amount of turnover at OSU the last few years and that defense was really young this season. I've been impressed with him.

I wonder if McDaniels coming back had anything to do with him staying at Ohio St.

Maybe Schiano originally thought he would have the inside track on the HC job was his after Bill retired with McDaniels out of the way.
This feels right.
