Kerr might regret forever playing Festus and Varejao so much. Any idea why Festus played 2.5 minutes coming out of timeout from 6 minutes to approx 3 1/2 minutes to go?
No fucking clue. Varejao also got way too many minutes in the third quarter.

Lineups with Ezeli or Varejao were -18. Lineups with Green at C were +14.

Bogut getting hurt killed GSW and they still almost won. I'm happy about the outcome, I'm happy about the Brat bricking enough shots to build a palace but I don't think it was a choke job, that Bogut injury was big,

Yes to all. I thought Kerr was awful this series.
They couldn't play the small lineup w/o Barnes too much.
1. Livingston and Iguodala in particular couldn't go 35+ minutes. But more importantly.
2. They were getting murdered on the boards every time they went small, and on post-ups.

GS needed one of Ezeli, Barnes, Varejao to not be terrible on both ends. Barnes was not terrible on D which meant he got the most minutes, but it was the real flaw once Bogut went down. they needed at least 1 "big" from that group to rebound, defend and hit the occasional shot, and they couldn't get it.

RULE NO. 11-BASKETBALL INTERFERENCE-GOALTENDING

f. Trap the ball against the face of the backboard. (To be a trapped ball, three elements must exist simultaneously. The hand, the ball and the backboard must all occur at the same time. A batted ball against the backboard is not a trapped ball.)
1) That has never been called in the history of basketball.

2) lol fucking boo hoo

He got the ball well before the backboard.

How isn't blowing a 3-1 lead not a choke job?
Right? I don't really get the mad rush here to shout down people calling it a choke from the Warriors.

When you have the greatest regular season record in NBA history, are 78-4 at home over the past two regular seasons, and then blow a 3-1 series lead, which has never happened before in NBA Finals history, by losing two home games.....yeah, you choked. Sorry. And that doesn't take anything away from Cleveland, who more than earned this title. But the Warriors choked.

If anything, GS seems lucky that the whole Lebron/Cleveland storyline will overshadow the severity of how they choked.

I'm happy for Cleveland. As a member of a group that long ago shed the label they've just done, I'm happy to see another championship starved fandom finally have a chance to celebrate. And if we don't get Papi to the World Series for one last time, I'll be happy to root for the Cubs to end their drought as well, despite the fact that I despise their manager.

All joy to those who have waited too long!

Nut shot suspension and Bogut going down remove the choke aspect for me. The nut shot thing is great and I'm glad the cheap shot artist has to live with that, but this wasn't really a choke job.

I'm a Green hater but boy did he have a phenomenal Game 7. No doubt in my mind GS win in 5 if he plays in Game 5

He got the ball well before the backboard.
I posted the photo because I thought it was awesome. Then I wondered: Is that a goaltend? I'm no expert on basketball rules.

Some Googling confirmed that it is not goaltending if the defender touches the ball *before* it hits the backboard. Found a video on Twitter that shows LeBron did get a hand on the ball before it hit the backboard.

Anyway, iconic photo. We'll be seeing it for years.

This wasn't a 73-win team over the past week that lost these 3 games.

The Warriors don't win 73 without Draymond as they didn't have him in Game 5, without Curry anywhere close to 100%, without Bogut the past two games, and without Iggy hobbling around as he did in Game 6.

This team was banged up and still almost withstood the greatest NBA 3-game performance that I've ever witnessed since Bernard King.
