Man, I'm so happy right now. That was one of the most enjoyable playoffs (the entire playoffs, nont just the Finals) ever as a fan. This is what I love about sports. I hated Cleveland before these Finals, but when they got there, and everyone was talking about matchups, and how the East sucked, I just started getting behind them, because I tend to root for the underdog, when I have no rooting interest. The city of Cleveland is feeling what we felt when the Pats won in 2001, and that's awesome. Cleveland Rocks.

Finesse? Please, the better team won here. They both played decently tonight but Cleveland played better.
Lol, how about "Sorry, I was wrong, you were right."

Let's go back to where we were: I said that they won 73 games because they're a soft finesse team that can't get it done in the playoffs and got lucky because Love and Irving were injured last year. You said they were historically great, that the Cavs were better with out Love and Irving because of their lousy defense, and OKC played phenomenal basketball. And if GS had a touch series against OKC but then steamrolled the Cavs, you'd probably be right. But almost getting eliminated by OKC and then losing to the Cavs shows that GS isn't historically great.

Sorry GS couldn't score in the final four minutes of Game 7, had their best all around defender suspended for hitting a guy in the balls, squandered home court advantage, blew a 3-1 series lead and soiled a 73 win series. I know it sucks that they lost and I do feel bad for them, but this was a choke job.
This! Lebron was a fucking beast but holy shit what a choke by golden state

I don't think there's any doubt that Curry has been less than 100% throughout these playoffs. Hell of an effort by him to get this team as close as he did -- and also a tribute to the Dubs' depth.

I do the same - the underdog is more fun to root for. That LeBron became an underdog is itself an amazing occurrence. But it did, and he threw down.

Somewhere
If bricking open jumpshots isnt choking, then what is?
Barnes and desperation heaves excepted, were those shots open?

A lot to critique the Warriors on -- they got nothing out of their vaunted bench today -- but the Cavaliers were playing very good defense, especially given the relatively liberal officiating w/regard to screens (they allowed a ton of off-ball contact on both ends, though).

Couple things.....

1) Golden State played great basketball this past week even in 3 losses. They didn't choke.

2) Curry will have 3 surgeries this summer. He didn't simply come up small. He's still a beast who was not himself the past month. This doesn't diminish anything he's accomplished.

The post game would be much more entertaining with pop up video bubbles. Who's this jabronie in the maroon sport coat? Who's the douche in the banker's vest?

You're an idiot right now. Stop it. Sometimes a team loses because the other team played better.
The Cavs were the better team, but GS had a huge edge in this series and they let it slip away on a lot of different levels. Draymond got himself suspended for a close out game, they constantly made mistakes at critical moments. Tonight in a fourth quarter that Cleveland did not play very well in, GS shot themselves in the foot by committing bad turnovers and settling for difficult shots.

I'm not sure why people have to tear Golden State down. Cleveland simply got on a historic roll and got historic performances from their top two players. They went cold at the worst times and when you rely on the outside shot you have to live with the results.

Agree. Some of the games were blowouts, but tonight was a Game 7 and it was as close of a game as you will ever see, white knuckle all the way. This is as close as you can come to winning a series without winning it.

The LeBron story is literature. The Prodigal Son of Ohio is born, he thrives, he betrays, soars, laments, returns, struggles, then delivers.
