Pasta is what we needed Seguin to be in ‘13.

Edit: He has already outscored Seguin’s entire 22 game output from that playoff run.

The first line was great last year, but they’ve ascended to another level this year. Good lord.

The rest of the team is pretty good, too, I guess.

Maybe. But going to Toronto, they may even opt for Gionta if neither of those two are ready.
I forgot about him. But rather than focussing on my alcohol-fueled forgetting, I'll focus on how Sweeney is coming up roses, depth-wise. Carlo and Riley out. Not fatal. And still have tolerable NHLers Gionta and Holden sitting around.
I think I forgot how good debrusk and Rick were....until they came back.
It's pretty remarkable that the team tore through the last month with all those key guys out.

Bottom line is you're right about donato. Maybe he'll adjust, but at this moment, he's not doing it, and it takes whichever line he's on out of the game.

But even with that, it was great for him to get a game to see what the speed and intensity is like in the playoffs. It will serve him well next year.

right here
Also, I will line up to take my medicine on Miller. He killed Komarov with a trident and that goal made Plekanec look like me skating out there. Good stuff.

Im on board with this. I need to eat a whole fucking crow on him.
Pretty sure the entire board does. IIRC we wanted him to go to Vegas. While my viewing has been limited not living in Bos, but he seems much different. More well rounded.

It’s been said before but he drew our ire by playing top 4 minutes way too early. He’s a defenseman so he took time to grow and now he’s a legit #4 in a Seidenberg-esque vein. 2 more years at $2.5 million is a very fair price.

I credit his turnaround with me moving down the block from him.

On an additional not, anyone know how Colin has been this year for Vegas?

Also, fourth highest corsi for defensemen with 40+ games. Colin would t have had a role here though, between McAvoy, Krug and now Gryz, there are too many players they preferred. Given the team and players performances, it’s hard to argue with their evaluation.

Just seems like they could have traded him, but maybe there was no market.

Good point and good comp now with Seidenberg. I was very wrong about Kevan, he's been great. We should have traded Colin before the draft to get some value for him.

The problem with trading Colin at that point is that there's no need to trade for him if you can't protect him, and almost every team was running up against their protection cap. That's one of the reasons why Vegas is being so good. They got a bunch of mid-range quality players on generally favorable deals that are having career years.
