If you need a moment of levity, Brian Burke is in his full regalia today, top button undone, tie barely visible under his blazer.

Well, I got a chuckle.

Question for those who know the rule. What would have happened if Rask just popped his mask off when his blade came off? 2 minute delay of game?

missed what? why would the whistle blow there? is it a rule? Ive never heard of it if it was.
I looked it up, and you appear to be right.

“14.1 Adjustment to Clothing or Equipment - Play shall not be stopped nor the game delayed by reasons of adjustments to clothing, equipment, skates or sticks.
The onus of maintaining clothing and equipment in proper condition shall be upon the player. If adjustments are required, the player shall leave the ice and play shall continue with a substitute.
No delay shall be permitted for the repair or adjustment of goalkeeper’s equipment. If adjustments are required, the goalkeeper shall leave the ice and his place shall be taken by the substitute goalkeeper immediately.”

Refs got it right.

I don't care about bad officiating, I care about inconsistent officiating. If you're going to call that cross check on Pasta, and literally take a goal off the board, or the "interference" by DeBrusk, leading to another goal for Tampa, you have to call the interference on Nash and the trip on Marchand. That's the point here.

Yeah, that is a much better summary of my issues with it. Be consistently bad.

This is where I am on this.

It’s obviously not intentional, but that was some shitty officiating, and it had a serious effect on the game.

My takeaway is that the Bruins are going to stomp a fucking hole in this Tampa squad in the Garden, whichever way this game ends up.

Looks like they got it wrong. They waited for Tuukka's blade to be replaced before dropping the puck.

I mean, they cant even get it consistently right game to game. Anderson loses his stick? Dead play. Toronto player goes down injured while Bruins have the puck? Dead play.

If they cant get it right game to game, why would we expect them to get it right team to team or play to play? The only consistency they've shown is their inconsistency.

The hot mic picks up ref yelling "I'm watching you David" as Backes and another player are pushing.

I guess there is an exception for the goalie mask or we got screwed on that against Toronto?

So yeah, if Tampa isn't going to clear the front of the net like Toronto did, this is going to be a good series for the Bruins.

Already two goals in front of the net. Exactly what we were saying needed to happen.
