Here’s the full roster of NFL on Fox broadcast teams for 2014…
1) Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Erin Andrews
2) Kevin Burkhardt, John Lynch and Pam Oliver
3) Chris Myers, Ronde Barber and Jennifer Hale
4) Thom Brennaman, David Diehl and Laura Okmin
5) Kenny Albert, Daryl “Moose” Johnston and Tony Siragusa
6) Dick Stockton, Donovan McNabb/Brady Quinn/Kirk Morrison and Kristina Pink

USA Today article on McNabb

It’s not that McNabb’s a bad talker, it’s that he’s proved incapable of speaking in television-appropriate soundbites during his brief time on TV and was never very good at explaining his play or knowing the rules during his career. Every sentence becomes a paragraph. Most of those paragraphs somehow reference his playing career. Many of those references involve a plea to “check the numbers.” It’s the sort of stuff that won’t play well in an NFL booth, where too many analysts rely on talking points rather than analyzing the game at hand. Call it Dan Dierdorf syndrome.

Jesus that roster is depressing.  As for McNabb, what about that criticism makes him any different and/or worse than any of the other color guys?

Those are in order, right? Kenny, Moose and Goose down to #5 makes me believe in the human race a little bit more this morning.

There is nothing worse than sitting down on the couch with some suds, chips and other snacks and realizing that you have the Tony Siragusa game.

"GUYS! I'm wearing a leather jacket on the sideline and I can tell you that it's COLD out today!"

I'm glad I now have the NFL Sunday Ticket because I'm now in Eagles country and I really can't stand listening to Siragusa.

Johnston isn't that bad, but his 2 partners dwarf him (PNI) in negativity.

In any case, had to google 3 of the sideline reporters.

Any case:

3, 1, 4, 6, 2, pass

Hoping some games in the Bos market fall to #3.

So Stockton has been Old Yeller'd.
I can't wait until he's completely Old Yeller'd, although as the last team, thankfully I won't have to hear him much.  His voice annoys the hell out of me.

I know I'm in the minority, but I love Buck and Aikman.  They can call a game I'm watching any day.

That is a DISGUSTING comment by Sox and Rocks.

I absolutely can't stand listening to Joe Buck in any setting.  He is the most sanctimonious, narcissistic broadcaster on TV today, which is really saying something.  I think Aikman occasionally has worthwhile comments, but they are usually negated by the fact that his sentence invariably begins with "You're exactly right, Joe."

Well, to each his own I guess.  I think Myers and Barber are excellent, and Burkhardt and Lynch are unobjectionable.  So, hopefully in the few games the Pats are on Fox, Fox has a Giants-Cowboys game to send Buck and Aikman to and the Pats get the proverbial second or third string.

The thing I don't understand about Siragusa is that he is on the sidelines like a sideline reporter, but he is broadcasted all the time, like he is the 3rd man in the booth. The only reason I can come up with is that he can't physically fit into the booth, so he has to sit and outside and work from out there.

HE'S COLORFUL DAMN IT!!!!!!

He sucks plain and simple but just enough as a loud mouth goofball to keep him around and be able to turn his mic off when necessary.

He didn't die, but he's hardly a blip on the media radar today.  Costas is sanctimonious as hell as well, but what role does he really have any more other than a studio man in the Olympics and his easily ignored role on the Sunday pre-game?  He does no play by play, is not involved at all with the NBA or MLB or College football, and just doesn't have a presence.  If you watch NFL and MLB, you absolutely cannot get away from Joe Buck.  He's everywhere.

Burkhardt is fantastic with the Mets and his football work was getting pretty good last year. Good to see him get bumped up to the #2 squad.

If the Sox cut ties with Orsillo this offseason, he'd be my pick to replace him.

Apparently, you don't have or watch games on MLB Network.  He and Kaat are the lead team on their game of the week broadcasts (i.e. when they're not just piping in the home/away feeds).

Ah - my bad then - I stand corrected.  I don't get MLB Network.

This only stands for baseball but Costas clearly loves baseball and Buck does not. I can't abide a number one MLB announcer who sounds bored about being in the park for many of his broadcasts. Costas made his name by pulling a Gus Johnson after Ryne Sandberg took Bruce Sutter deep for the second time in a row - Buck would call that with a canned quote from his incomparably greater father and then go watch a Paul Rudd movie or whatever the fuck he does in his spare time.
