Figured it was a long shot he came back. Thought maybe he'd consider a low level salary situational role. Oh well. Future Hall of Famer.

I enjoyed his brief time here. Really wanted him to make that crucial play to win the SB and drive the Steelers fans mad.

Yep. That was exactly my thought too. Imagine the bitter tears that would have flowed and frozen like so many stalactites hanging from Steelers fans brows. If that strip sack had been Harrison sacking Foles for example...

I'm surprised by this, given his comments in the run-up to the SB about wanting to play another season or two. Maybe his body just wouldn't let him continue training the way he knew he needed to.

He must really hate Belichick too! Jokes aside, he probably wasn’t getting much in the way of offers and decided playing for vet minimum or close to it wasn’t worth it.

Obviously wish he could have been the one Patriot defensive player to make a play in the SB to turn things around. But to me (a) he’s a guy I always hated when he was on the Steelers, and (b) at his age and stage of his career (not being able to get on the field and then getting cut by the Steelers) that he ended up playing such a pivotal role for the Pats in a game in which the defense was utter dog shit, is symbolic of the reason they lost in February.

I love that retirement announcement. That photo says it all. What it must be like to dedicate so much time and miss a lot of stuff with your children

I think he had a monster game in the SB and vs JAX. Reminded me of Adalius Thomas in the '08 SB. Thanks for the sack vs JAX, it was fun cheering you on.
