Former Bruin Carol Vadnais dies at 68

Former Bruin defenceman Carol Vadnais has died of cancer at the age of 68. He was a member of the 72 Stanley Cup Championship team.

Part of the big trade with the Rangers 11/7/75.  He scored a couple of goals for the Bruins on flips off goalies from 100+ feet out.

He played for the California Golden Seals too in between Montreal and the Bruins, they wore those white skates, nice pick up in 72 and helped them win  another cup.

When the trade was made, many of us thought that it was brilliant at the time. Vad never lived up to the promise in Boston, but he did play decently over time. Another long locks player like Derek - and a Daisy Buchanan devotee.

Kind of sad to see his passing go almost unnoticed in the Bay Area - he was, by far, the best California Golden Seal of all time.
