And Maddon wants you to know:
Maddon reminded reporters his Rays lost the last 7 before the all-star break the year they went to the WS

Apparently David Ross took a foul ball off the facemark July 5th and landed on the Concussion DL

A pair of two-out, bottom of the 9th home runs today:

Melancon gives one up to pinch-hitter Daniel Murphy, losing a 1-0 Pirates lead and sending it into extras

Saltalamacchia hits a two-run shot off Soria and gives the Tigers a 4-2 win over KC

Mike Napoli hit his 21st HR yesterday.
He also has raised $15,000, to date, for the Cleveland Clinic!
I just ordered 2 "PARTY at NAPOLI'S" t-shirts and saw that this week, July 18-July 25, Napoli will match all the money raised from the online sale of those t-shirts.

Looks like Roger Clemens, Josh Beckett, J.D. Drew and a host of former Sox and former MLB players are participating in an amateur tourney. I see multiple back and hamstring injuries on the horizon. But yeah, this could be fun to watch and/or attend.

As expected that didn't last long. J.D. Drew out with a hip injury and Clemens doesn't make it out of the third inning; endurance.

Wasn't sure where to put this and didn't see it as worthy of it's own thread. Was just catching the end of the O's and A's and saw an add on the backstop that made me chuckle. Former Red Sox Jose Canseco bobblehead night comes to Oakland in early September. I know he had his greatest success there, but pretty surprised that any team would honor him.

Of course he did. Hopefully that jackass is blowing games for the Yankees next season. I can't imagine who would take a gamble on him at this point.

Not to ruin your narrative but they were saying on EEI that by all accounts Paplebon has handled the whole situation well.

Edit - story link backing up EEI's assertion. http://www.csnmidatlantic.com/washington-nationals/rizzo-baker-and-nats-players-react-papelbons-release?utm_content=buffera1610&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

What can he do or say at this point? He can't be a dick about it. Be humble and move on. He'll hook up somewhere.
