You shut your fucking mouth about Przemek Karnowski, the most entertaining player in college basketball. I would guess about 75 percent of my CBB posts this year have been Karnowski related; he is basically my hero.
Fouls were 22-22. FTAs were 26-26. Hard to argue it wasn't a wash. If anything, the Zags were hurt by the concentration of early fouls on two key guys, but as I said above, I thought those guys played badly, and probably made their own luck to some extent.
I didn't say they did; but if you actually watched Gonzaga more than just tonight you would understand how good Karnowski really is.
What a shit ugly game. The refs sucked and made some terrible calls. Zags also couldn't hit a shot. (nor could UNC)

Really hate for everybody that didn't have a rooting interest that it was such a foul fest. It made it absolutely dreadful for casuals.
Would have loved to have seen Gonzaga win it against anybody else, but I'm thrilled to have another one going to Chapel Hill.

A different player stepped up for unc in every game. Hicks and Berry were horrible on Saturday while Jackson and Meeks carried the team. Tonight, Jackson was terrible, but berry and Hicks stepped up
Well, it seriously altered the flow of the game. Who can say whether it affected the result?
Adapting to officiating is part of the game. Treating the second-half officiating as a given, UNC adapted better, despite their poor FT shooting.
The zags couldn't score all half, but the refs had them in the double bonus before the halfway point. The free throws kept them in it
He played well against West Virginia but hasn't shown much since. I'm sure he looked great against WCC competition.

Yep. I'll rewatch tomorrow but the calls against Carolina were worse than the ones against the Zags. The shittiness went both ways. As for Collins, his fifth foul was his 7th and it wasn't really close. Those big men had never played against other big men and they couldn't handle it. They are great at posting up 6'7 dudes in the Mountain West but tonight was a very different group they were facing.
This Carolina team was so so so so special. To have Justin Jackson go 0-8 from 3 and miss half our free throws and still win against a good Gonzaga team? Unreal. They can win in so many ways. I'll have way more to say tomorrow but this is amazing. It sucks the refs disrupted the game but it helped the Zags catch their breath and stay in it.
Odd to see the Meeks out of bounds play getting so much attention while the Pinson not even close to touching the ball on the three point shot and refs hand the ball to Zags who make a three isn't in the discussion.

That belongs to Meeks ALL Day. He shook their big center before the first t.v. timeout, it was clear that guy had never been in a game like this against someone like Meeks. And then Meeks with the defensive play of the game?? He should have been MOP.
They've got to be the favorite next season right? They only lose the Center and he's terrible (I'm sure he's great when he's playing Salisbury State but not against real teams). Their core is tremendous and I assume all staying.
My early bet is they pull a Carolina and win it next year. They will be better without that Center dude.
Exactly. The refs handed Zags the keys to stay in that game. They couldn't score against our defense and kept getting tick tacky free throws, slowing down the game to give them a chance to catch their breath.

Dude, I know it's your first time here but this is what major college basketball is like. It's full of heartbreak. It's not a cakewalk. It hurts because the competition is fierce. You guys will be the favorites to win it next year.

Goss is projected to be a second rounder. He will stay. I don't know who Mchale is. Collins and Tillie are more highly regarded than Goss w/r/t NBA and I'm still betting they both stay. It's a DEEP draft.

I'm not heart broken I'm fucking salty because the refs made calls that allows UNC to stay in the game. Collins getting shitty foul calls that took him out of the game, along with Williams and Karnowski (moving screen fouls on Shem but not not Meeks or Mayes) made Gonzaga have to play a game they couldn't win.
