This is a good match up. Keep the train rolling. Obliterate OKC.
Important game post kyrie discussion, recent good play versus underwhelming teams, and standings
Quite the matchup: OKC is 33-14, and currently on a seven-game win streak, since losing to the C's in Ok City back in Oct.
Note 2PM Super Bowl Sunday afternoon start time, airing on ABC.
Oh, yeah: Throttle the Thunder!
Last year's super bowl day game was awesome.
Baynes and Time Lord out. Adams is gonna wreck us.
How can Time Lord be out? Has he played at all? Some serious practice work I guess
Baynes out a few weeks per Himmelsbach.
Al is hungry
I'm so sorry this was terrible
Ugh. None of Australia for the near term.
I hope Semi can be serviceable today
At least Semi-serviceable?
It's great to see Smart working on shots that he might actually use in the game.
About as likely to go in as any other right corner 3 this team attempts.
If anyone on the Celtics can make that its Smart. How can you doubt him after what he has done thus far?
The ridiculous "if it doesn't go in, I'll call a foul" standard of NBA officiating.
Celts gonna have their hands full down low with Khal Drogo
Mook to SoSH = please keep slandering me!
lmaooooo he is ridiculous
I will say the timing of this game is fantastic. What a great way for people to kill time before the Super Bowl.
The Celtics match up pretty well with OKC, especially with Smart in the starting lineup. Would be even better if Baynes was healthy.
Kyrie does something every game that maybe two or three people on the planet can do. Oh my...
Kyrie just took Jerami Grant to school and then some.
Kyrie was super mad after Mook missed him there
This is true. Mook didnt even look his way. So he does that. Maybe the key to getting Uncle Drew to the next level is just to keep pissing him off.
I thought we had shaken Bay Tay's selfishness out of him...
Mook bullies his way to the rim.
Marcus Smart forever btw
Stop it, Grizzly
I think Hayward is going off this afternoon.
Paul George makes me feel better about Hayward. Just gotta be patient. He'll get there.
Generating great looks from 3, getting to the rim, playing connected and energetic on D. OKC's shooting will improve as the game goes on, but this is encouraging so far.
When Al is aggressive shooting the ball it opens up the floor so much. Kyrie + 4 shooters is a beautiful thing.
George got a few late season games to come back after his injury the summer prior. Per the article in the main forum Hayward thread, Hayward didn't start playing five on five until September due to his second procedure. He will continue to improve.
Yup, and I sort of like Al from mid-range: he's historically good from there, and it's a nice reset that seems to make him comfortable.
I said it in the game thread yesterday. Dennis Schroder is playing at another level the last month.
Jaylen Brown is so good again
I loved his acquisition before the season started but I didnt see this. Great move by OKC
Hopefully good enough for the Pels to take him instead of Tatum, amirite?
Dont get abused Theis
Unfortunately no. If the C's want Davis, its going to cost Tatum and maybe Brown too.
Theis ist Fahren!
Great pass by Kyrie.
Why not use a timeout there with 1.6 left to advance the ball, and try to get a good look at the buzzer? Do the C's typically use all of their timeouts in a half? I can never remember how many timeouts teams get anyway.
I don't think you can advance the ball in the 1st Quarter.
You can only advance the ball that way in the 4th quarter.
Pace yourself dude. You have a lot of stressful sportswatching to come...
And Brad sometimes does use timeouts in non-4th quarters to call a play when there are 5-8 seconds left.
